I am just finishing up my first gallon on my cv-rx with 20% trinity platinum fuel. I am undecided if I should switch to 30% or not.

30% Nitro - Ponch - 01-31-2006

Go for 25%. most all of our team runs it. not sure about Drew though. Me and John do though.

30% Nitro - UE-Maxx - 01-31-2006

Trinity doesn't make a 25%

30% Nitro - Traxxas_Junkee - 01-31-2006

i think matt uses Byrons? right?

30% Nitro - PoPRC - 01-31-2006

If I understand this right you can mix 20% with 30% and get 25%. Obviously you do this in equal proportions. If I am wrong somebody please chime in.

30% Nitro - rocco79 - 01-31-2006

I wouldnt mix fuels... Ive never heard of anyone doing that.....

Guys just run 30%!!!! I was hesitant at first tooo but im so happy i switched to 30%. I run a 24/7pro and it was tuned to run around 230 -240 on 20% odonnell. When i tried 30% with the same tune/setup and pipe. My truck was running 180-190!!!!!!!!

The power increase is awesome, but thats not the only good thing i find engines are much easier to tune with 30%

As long as you run a proper tune on the engine you will get the same life expectancy out of your engine

30% Nitro - UE-Maxx - 01-31-2006

Ok.

Looks like I am going with 30%.

30% Nitro - rocco79 - 01-31-2006

you wont be dissapointed

30% Nitro - maxximum_44 - 01-31-2006

Roc, did u add a shim when u made the move up to 30%?

30% Nitro - rocco79 - 01-31-2006

The manual says you should but i never did.... And i got like 5 or 6 gallons off a 150 buck motor... And i raced that mother hard!

30% Nitro - maxximum_44 - 01-31-2006

Schweeet!!

30% Nitro - rocco79 - 01-31-2006

My novarossi bs21sb says 25% on the box and that thing runs like a F$#@ing top on 30% too!!!

30% Nitro - FrankieS - 01-31-2006

i have been running 20% in my storm and savvy. tomorrow i am gonna run 30% and see how the power increases..!

30% Nitro - BottledBeast - 01-31-2006

well i run top fuel 33%..i like it alot it runs alot better and alot more power...

30% Nitro - thenewguy821 - 01-31-2006

Jump to 30% and don't look back.. I did the gradual change. Started with 20%, later went to 30%, tried out a gallon of 35%, and finally found 40%. I haven't had to shim my cooling head, and have had nothing but good luck with the High Nitro.

30% Nitro - maxximum_44 - 01-31-2006

I need fuel, gonna checkout that 30%. Anybody know if Al's stocks it?

30% Nitro - Traxxas_Junkee - 01-31-2006

new guy, u run 40 wow...

30% Nitro - thenewguy821 - 01-31-2006

Yep. I've been runnig 40% for a while now. At the Bash Saturday, R2K thought I had a modded OS .18 lol

30% Nitro - Traxxas_Junkee - 01-31-2006

lol, what did u have in there? (that he thought was the 18)

30% Nitro - thenewguy821 - 01-31-2006

Stock 2.5 with Trinity pipe.

30% Nitro - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-31-2006

how many gallons u get in b/w rebuilds with 40% 3-4?

30% Nitro - kevinF - 01-31-2006

40% of what brand?

30% Nitro - Michowski - 01-31-2006

white lightning

30% Nitro - thenewguy821 - 01-31-2006

Thanks mich... 40% White Lightning. I haven't done a rebuild yet. I've got a little over a gallon on this engine, and it was used when I got it. I put 3-4 gallons through the Sirio .21 before I sold it, and it still had TONS of compression left, and also had almost 4 gallons through the Mach .26 in the LST before that was sold.

30% Nitro - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-31-2006

White Lightning claims they did massive amounts of real motor running research on getting that blend right with the best lubricant package. It is supposed to be a great weekender race fuel without costing you a new motor every week, from all I've read.
