What should I do now??? - FreeRideFrosty - 03-26-2006

What do you guys think I should do next for my LSP??

I am set on motors (OS .21 VZ-B and Novarossi P5 EB Modded) and at least on my steering servo. (JR 8800T).

I am running bowties on yellow dish rims, have the stock screw kit, 2055 throttle servo, JR XR2 radio, KHZ toe blocks and ackerman arm, no chassis braces... Currently using revo pushrods.

I have stripped knuckles so I need to get those first but after that where should I go next???

get some boas on standard offset wheels

mugen prospec upper turnbuckles ( to use for steering links)

A NEW BODY

and for gods sake... buy some spare parts

What should I do now??? - rocco79 - 03-26-2006

echo

What should I do now??? - snakebite46 - 03-26-2006

Toyota ?

What should I do now??? - FreeRideFrosty - 03-26-2006

I already have the toe blocks and hinge pin braces.

I will look into the other KHZ parts. (It just sucks because right now I have no way to order online and my parents would flip if they honestly knew how expensive this hobby was) And I do want to get the screw kit and do a total rebuild. I am planning on buying the mugen links and some spare parts on my next trip to the LHS.

Now what are the cradock brakes? Link? Reccomended throttle servo??

What should I do now??? - Eracer76 - 03-26-2006

Get a better throttle/brake servo asap, it sure would suck to see that truck take off and hit the wall or someone else's truck
I had two Hitec's crap on me before getting my Airtronics....run-a-ways suck!
You wouldnt believe the difference in "driving feel" with a high quality servo, I noticed it right awaySmile

Get some better chassis bracing and stock up on c-hubs front and rear....I havent broken one since July, but when I do break something, their the first to go when you have KHZ hinge pin holders.

What should I do now??? - FreeRideFrosty - 03-26-2006

That is the only part that I have had break really. I plan on getting at least 2 sets from the LHS.

What throttle servo is reccomended and does anyone have a used one for sale??

What should I do now??? - rocco79 - 03-27-2006

Cradock brakes are a fiber material brake rotor... They are not affected by fuel and you dont run brake pads with them...

They are extremley affective

Huh? How do they work without pads? Or like you just run the metal pad thing, but no grippy part on it?

What should I do now??? - UE-Maxx - 03-27-2006

Just the metal pad.

What should I do now??? - Ponch - 03-27-2006

Ohhh ok.

What should I do now??? - destroy_my_revo_15 - 03-27-2006

i have a jr/spek 590m servo that i would sell to ya. its brand new and at lh i believe that its $40 so i would take $25 for it. i ran one on my revo for a long time then i got the hitec one and just have it as a spare. give it a thought and let me know

What should I do now??? - Ponch - 03-27-2006

JR590M
Torque: 85 oz/in (at 6.0 volts)
Speed: .15 sec/60 degrees (at 6.0 volts)
Weight: 1.6 oz
Size: 1.46" x 1.55" x 0.73"

Traxxas 2055
Length:
1.6" (40.5mm)
Width: .8" (20.5mm)
Height: 1.43" (36mm)
Torq: 80 oz/in
Weight: 1.58oz (45g)

No torque difference. The only real difference is that the 590 is metal gear.

What should I do now??? - FreeRideFrosty - 03-27-2006

I want a fast servo...

What should I do now??? - Ponch - 03-27-2006

Yeah you do....LoL
Pick up your 9000t's sister servo--the 9000S

DZ9000S Digital Hi-Speed/Torque Surface Specs
Type: Ultra High Speed
Torque: 128 oz/in @ 6V
Speed: .06/60 degrees @ 6V
Dimensions (WxLxH): 1.59 x 0.83 x 1.50 in
Weight: 2.2 oz
Gears: Metal Gears

What should I do now??? - FreeRideFrosty - 03-27-2006

Dude that thing could probably steer my LSP just fine. LoL. DAMN! (And I have the 8500T)

I would like a fairly affordable but fast servo. What does everyone reccomend??

What should I do now??? - Eracer76 - 03-27-2006

The ones I use now are Airtronics 94359z's for both steering and throttle/brakes. They have lasted the longest so far and still going strong.

Airtronics 94359z
Torque: 200oz/in @ 6.0V
Transit Time: 0.10 sec/60 degrees @ 6.0V
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/61_100/products_id/2454

I used to have a Airtronics 94357z on my throttle/brake, I left my truck turned on after a heat with the radio off and the failsafe held it on full brakes, by the time I found it, the servo was fried:mad:
That servo was the fastest servo Ive ever seen.....

Airtronics 94357z
Torque: 125oz/in @ 6.0V
Transit Time: 0.07 sec/60 degrees @ 6.0V

What should I do now??? - FreeRideFrosty - 03-27-2006

I don't run a failsafe so I dont need to worry about that. That last one looks nice but a bit pricy for now... what is a more "budget" version. (I don't want to sound cheap but I have some other purchases I amlining up as well...)

What should I do now??? - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 03-27-2006

Dan, what is your max budget on the servo?
go this auction
http://cgi.ebay.com/AIRTRONICS-94357Z-ERG-VR-HI-SPEED-SERVO-MRX4-MTX4-TC3-4_W0QQitemZ6036725383QQcategoryZ34063QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

email the guy and offer him like $80 shipped. He will prolly take it. He did $86 shipped on the 358z.

What should I do now??? - Eracer76 - 03-27-2006

FreeRideJunkie Wrote:I don't run a failsafe so I dont need to worry about that.

It was the one built into the spektrum that did it....I now have it set so the failsafe will just center the servo's Wink

What should I do now??? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 03-27-2006

Dan try the ACE servos, I believe they are made by futaba and they are cheap, 200 oz of torque and .12 speed

Craddock brakes BLOW IMO get a good set of fiber discs(u also wont have to use the pads) and u will be set...all the craddocks i have run or most of the other buggy guys have run were very inconsistent but hey the LSP guys seem to love em so do what u want

oh and sell that pile and get an ST-1 Wink Smile hahahaha

What should I do now??? - rocco79 - 03-27-2006

Mike its because they were in a TTR ... thats why they blew! LOL!!! j/k!
