This thing seems to have a very small "sweet spot" and most if not all of the time I cannot seem to find it. Is there another carb that will make tuning easier on this motor?

maybe time for a new motor??? my WS7II's were always a dream to tune

It's probably just me and my novice tuning skills..

Better Carb for WS7II - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-03-2006

well u said its got like 10 gallons on it its prolly on its last leg; rods prolly all stretched out from doin back flips and stuff like that so ya its gonna get harder to tune the more fuel you put through it

Better Carb for WS7II - Ponch - 10-03-2006

So check the rod for play and possibly replace...I'll do that tomorrow, I'm too tired and I'll f something up tonight.

lol check the rod, check the crank to make sure it isnt all scratched up from possibly sucking some dust, check a glow plug make sure that there is no pitting on the piston that kinda stuff

Pulled the carb earlier and the crank has no noticeable scratches, looks like new. I'll check the rest tomorrow.

I bet the small sweet spot problem is due to the fact that the engine is dremel modified all over the place. I bet it has nothing to do with 10 gallons or the carb.

Better Carb for WS7II - HAGASAN - 10-04-2006

Your pinch is prolly gone. 10 gallons is alot, so at on etime it had to run good in order to get those 10 gallons. Motor has served its purpose and should be put to rest.

Better Carb for WS7II - Tex - 10-04-2006

John Adams (some of you may know him) has 20+ gallons on his 3 year old WS7II. Still runs strong to this day. All internals are original on it, no pinch or anything.

Better Carb for WS7II - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-04-2006

BS it hasnt been pinched lol no way that thing would still run

Better Carb for WS7II - Tex - 10-04-2006

Next time He's at the races I'll ask him again. Every time I've ever raced with him in the past two years it has been the same motor, it was always really fast too.

Better Carb for WS7II - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-04-2006

o i know its the same motor, but i just cant see that thing having any compression after 20 gallons lol

Better Carb for WS7II - HAGASAN - 10-04-2006

LOL, the bearings last that long too. I dont beleive it. Hes been racing for 3 years? WHere?

Better Carb for WS7II - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-04-2006

the bearings will last that long, RB bearings are much better than the NOVA ones Wink

Better Carb for WS7II - snakebite46 - 10-04-2006

Dont RB's come with Nova bearings ??? I saw Shinner pull a NR bearing out of a C6

Better Carb for WS7II - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 10-04-2006

ya they do lol those new bigger bearings arent as good, as sh1nner found out

Better Carb for WS7II - Tex - 10-05-2006

John Adams is the taller white dude that's with RV alot of the time, he's been racing for years. He raced Venture raceways before it closed, then DD's tracks 2 years ago, now he's at Leisure every once in a while.

I am not here to defend the guy, I really don't care if anyone believes me Smile I am just relaying what he told me, he seems like an honest guy.

Better Carb for WS7II - Ponch - 10-05-2006

Checked the con rod, it's perfect too, no play whatsoever.

Better Carb for WS7II - Tex - 10-05-2006

I really think the tuning window is so small because of the mods done to the internals.

Better Carb for WS7II - Ponch - 10-05-2006

Probably, I got pretty close yesterday, the thing is though, 1-2 hrs too far and it's really lean bogging or not running because it's so rich.

Oh yeah I blew another rear diff yesterday. Is it possibly my driving style? I blip the throttle, ALOT, should I be more smooth and will that save diffs?

Better Carb for WS7II - Tex - 10-05-2006

yes try smoother throttle transitions. That will help you hold your line on the track as well.

Better Carb for WS7II - Ponch - 10-05-2006

Cool, I'll try that once I get some new stuff.
