Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-05-2006

yeah just save up for a new nice one man...(RB).....just ask ponch about used motors....haha

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - rocco79 - 12-05-2006

Is your rb's front bearing leaking?

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-05-2006

tlkaing to me rocco??

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - rocco79 - 12-05-2006

yes

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-05-2006

well, i think so, because whenever I run a tnak or two i look by the flywheel and theres burnt gas and stuff, that i blow off with the air compressor

Kevin, if it helps I have my case from my rb with bearings. They didn't leak if I remember correctly, it's yours if you want it.

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-05-2006

why??? is that a problem?

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-05-2006

i dont see why it would be a problem, seeing how its keeping that bearing lubriacated???

no thanks, matt

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - rocco79 - 12-05-2006

if oil can get out in large volumes dirt and ait can get in!

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - Ponch - 12-05-2006

It's not supposed to leak though-the oil gets to the open (inside) side of the bearing because it doesn't have a shield.

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-05-2006

well how should I fix the problem then rocco?

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - rocco79 - 12-05-2006

New front bearing

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-05-2006

hmmm, well ill take the motor apart tonight and possibly tke pics, and then ill decide, how much are bearings?

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - Tex - 12-05-2006

front bearings can leak a little with no ill effects..... it's actually somewhat normal for a front bearing to leak a LITTLE.... if there is a significant amount of gas coming out it's not normal.

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-05-2006

its not significant, just small, like you can only see it when you flip the car and look right at the flywheel, its not like dripping, ill try to get a pic or show you guys at the track

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - rocco79 - 12-05-2006

Yeah i agree tex... Corey Crosley, dimo, another dude from this weekend whos name escapes me and now kevin all have the same motor and all have displayed the same thing... Look at dimos buggy after a 5 min qual... Serious leak... I can only assume dimos started as a small "normal" like leak...

Kevin i think if you go on amain the bearings are under 20 bucks. I put one in befor its simple.

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-06-2006

oh im sure its simple, just hoping puttting a new one in wont screw the motor up.....if i put a new one in, will I have to re break it in so the bearing gets broken in??

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - rocco79 - 12-06-2006

naw im pretty sure they require Zero break-in. If its just alittle burnt oil comming out dont worry, thats cool . Dimos motor coats his block and chassis ... Before it gets to that point fix it!

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-06-2006

welli have pics ill post up tommorow, the bottom of the mill is coated with grease and a little dirt, from the 3 day weekend....so I dont think its too bad yet

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 12-06-2006

u do have to break in bearings, just run a couple tanks slow without blipping the throttle hard you want everything to get seated inside the bearing

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - Tex - 12-06-2006

Kevin, that sounds a bit excessive. When I say a little oil should come through, I mean a little, not coated on the bottom of your motor.

Looking for Cheap .21 buggy engine - kevinF - 12-06-2006

well heres some pics, Im guessing it may be a bit too much??
