in the knuckles where the pivot ball is

general revo discussion - Ponch - 01-21-2006

His pivot ball cap retainers.

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 01-21-2006

Oh... ok. I haven't had that problem yet. I will check it out but can't help you as of now.

general revo discussion - snakebite46 - 01-21-2006

You can use Teflon tape or pick up some of the UE pillowball retainers to hold them in place.

UE's have a o-ring that keeps them locked in place.

teflon tape...isnt that like plumbers tape? could that work?

general revo discussion - JOE - 01-21-2006

the rdracing axel carriers that has that fixed it has srews that you can tighten so they they don'e come loose. But they are kinda expensive, but i guess you could drill and use some screws to hold your castles in place Wink

Teflon tape = Plumbers tape = PTFE tape etc.

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 01-21-2006

thanks newguy!

Anybody using the RPM axle carriers and oversize bearings?

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 01-26-2006

ok so im trying to decide should i get one of those airplane starters and put a wheel on it to bump start my revo b/c im getting realli sick of this p/s. ive seen it done before with other types of r/c's like rc10's and an 1/8 scale... it would be alot cheaper but would it be hard to use im trying to decide since i might have my buggy sold so ill be getting spek and have some leftover pocket change lol srry for the long post but i want some more opinions on it before i go and buy one.

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 01-26-2006

or pick up a used 1/10 box and make a little block to put inside of it like I did on mine. I then reversed the direction of the wheel, did a little trimming on the top and whamo. Revo starter box. (I guess the box was included when I bought an RC10GT from my friend a while back but I never picked it up... therfore it seemed free. LoL. Ended up costing me about $20 if you look at it this way)

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 01-26-2006

well i have a sb but its going with my buggy...

general revo discussion - north_shore_racer - 01-26-2006

ok...this might seem like a stupid question but i gotta ask it.

i didnt wanna pay the money for a starter box cuz i prolly wont race much. so i traded out some parts sitting around for a ez-start setup. how would i go about turning my revo from bumpstart back to rotostart? its bruces old revo and i wanted to get a starter....but i just dont have the money and i just didnt wanna spend that sort of money to get it running...i might do it at a later date. but if someone could walk me through turning it back to ez-start thatd be great.

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 01-26-2006

I can't walk you through it but could show you at the bash saturday or race sunday... (I have some of the EZ start parts if you are missing anything. The only thing is that the wires are cut because I was to lazy to unbolt them all so I cut and pulled them out. Everything else is intact.)

general revo discussion - Ponch - 01-26-2006

He also needs a new crankshaft.

general revo discussion - Tex - 01-26-2006

you can't change a bumpstart engine back to manual start unless you buy a new crankshaft. You might as well buy a new 2.5r off ebay. OR buy a junked 2.5 and steal the crank out of it.

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 01-26-2006

Oh that's right because you need to cut it to get the non PS non EZstart backplate in. Forgot that I just learned that today... better get a box. Or get a old 1/10 box that I can mod up for you...

general revo discussion - Michowski - 01-26-2006

i got a 2.5 crank for ez start if you want it. Il be at leisure hopefully sunday

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 01-26-2006

WAIT... what is the motor?? how much fuel on it. Maybe I will be a nice guy and trade with you....

I missed Ryan's post... or get that crank and go that route...

general revo discussion - north_shore_racer - 01-26-2006

its a stock Revo 2.5r, idk how much fuel on it...ask bruce its the one i got from him. i havent run it at all...mich ima pm you about the crank. i might go with the 1/10 box and mod it....i will prolly do that. we'll see...if anybody has a 1/10 box for sale thatd be sweet.

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 01-26-2006

And ryan... out of curiosity... would the crank be coming out of the new motor because it will be switched to bump start??

general revo discussion - Michowski - 01-26-2006

no the motor i bought already comes with a cut crankshaft and bumpstart backplate. This crankshaft is just from a shot 2.5 i got.

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 01-26-2006

Gotcha... how much was the new motor with cut shaft and everything??

general revo discussion - Michowski - 01-26-2006

124

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 01-26-2006

I want to put it against the XTM motor side by side to see the pros and cons...

If I need to run a linkage to a rotary carb how would I do that??
