DON"T MAKE FUN OF THE LOWERED EXPLODER!!! j/k i have one and i lowered mine!! not that bad though!! Mad Tite Rice Mods--Too Funny - BJoe - 10-17-2005 Keeps it from rolling as easily atleast, eh Squirrel? Mad Tite Rice Mods--Too Funny - squirrel - 10-18-2005 1 1/2 inches al around doesn't help that much but you can tell the difference!! the only prob is i blew out my rear shocks because of the lowered ride hieght and now whenever i get alignments done i have to explain the drop to the guy so he doesn't try to raise it!! f.y.i. the drop in the front was done by turning the screw on the torsion bar, rear was done by removing extra shims. Mad Tite Rice Mods--Too Funny - BJoe - 10-18-2005 I'm not too sure what shims there are to remove, but you cranked the 'bars to lower it? How'd that affect the handling? Mad Tite Rice Mods--Too Funny - squirrel - 10-18-2005 in the rear of a 99 ploder sport there is one leaf spring and 4 shims/plate! turning thr torsion bars down lowered it and also reduced the dampening effect of the torsion bar (spring), so it's kinda a bouncy ride! thats why i te upgraded the front shocks to a higher gas charge. worked beautifully. it came out to an 1 1/2 inch drop all around, now the truck handles a lot better and the ride isn't as stiff! now i just need to upgrade the shocks in the rear! it took about an hour and a half to do and that includes dropping the rear end! i do recomend an alignment afterwords if your thinking about doing this! |
