A Rimo traxxas does it again - Mr. Tune - 02-21-2006 Figures!!!!!!!!! I go and pick up a new 2.5R yesterday, mod it up to fit a non-pullstart backplate and transfered over the flywheel and clutch to get it ready for install and breakin and then I read this thread! Ah well, I'll save up a little cash, slap together the junk 2.5r i have lying around and send it in to get me a 3.3 and keep the new one as a back up . traxxas does it again - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-21-2006 Mr. Tune Wrote:Figures!!!!!!!!! i hear you man, i just got a revo from UPS today. o well traxxas does it again - UE-Maxx - 02-21-2006 You got a Revo from UPS. They never brought me any of those yet. LOL J/M Looks like Revo's will dominate even more than they do now. traxxas does it again - maxximum_44 - 02-21-2006 Anybody know what the price differance is going to be? And whats the advantage of a center diff over a 2speed trans? traxxas does it again - UE-Maxx - 02-21-2006 I don't know much, but it has more tunability (is that even a word?). traxxas does it again - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-21-2006 UE-Maxx Wrote:You got a Revo from UPS. LOL J/M lol, actually it was from Obsessive R/C traxxas does it again - Michowski - 02-21-2006 maxximum_44 Wrote:Anybody know what the price differance is going to be? And whats the advantage of a center diff over a 2speed trans? A center diff evenly dispributes more power to the tire with the least amount of traction. You know how sometimes when you turn sharp and a rear wheel comes off the ground and just spins super fast? Well with a center diff all the power or most of the power will go to that wheel and because thats the only wheel getting power it puts it back onto the ground and keeps the truck moving a ton faster. The center diff from traxxas will still allow you to use the 2 speed. What they did was cut the Forward only shaft in half and put the foc gear on one end and a jato differential on the other end and screwed the diff to the gear and walla. Revo center diff. A truck with a center diff will be greatly faster then a truck with a transmission. Overall it will be a huge improvement. It will also allow you to use a bigger engine without fear of pulling wheelies. traxxas does it again - maxximum_44 - 02-21-2006 Oh. Very informative, thanks for the info. traxxas does it again - Michowski - 02-21-2006 Well i send a traxxas employee a message on the grid about if the 3.3 engine is available for the engine exchange program yet and if it il be the new owner of a 3.3 motor. I hope they got enough to ship me one. traxxas does it again - db302 - 02-21-2006 Ahhhh, this is the kewelest thing since licking the red off a lollipop. Sign me up for Traxxas's newest and best! traxxas does it again - MaxxGS - 02-21-2006 Well at least small block Traxxas owners (T-Maxx / Revo) have a new option when choosing a new engine. Carb problems are common on the 2.5 maybe this has been corrected with the 3.3. I'm guessing this 3.3 engine will have simular power compared to the OS TM 18. Lets hope they last more than 2 gallons. traxxas does it again - UE-Maxx - 02-21-2006 Did anyone look at the new maxx? The transmission, battery box, and rx box is all grey. I think the chassis might be too. traxxas does it again - kevinF - 02-21-2006 well here is is, you can order the 3.3 now.http://www.traxxas.com/products/nitro/erp/trx_erp_pop.htm#mostpopularoptions traxxas does it again - Michowski - 02-21-2006 mines shipping back in the morning and my 3.3 will be here next week provided im in the front of the line traxxas does it again - MaxxGS - 02-22-2006 Ryan did you buy a 3.3 from Traxxas? Whats the advantage of buying from Traxxas verses local hobby shop? traxxas does it again - Michowski - 02-22-2006 traxxas has them, lhs wont have them for probly a few months traxxas does it again - Mr. Tune - 02-22-2006 He's going to utilize their motor exchange program. They'll sell you new motor for dirt cheap when you send them a junk one. A 2.5r at the lsh will be around $130ish. An exchange will you a new 3.3 for $135 at the cost of a junk motor. That's a good deal! Beats tossing out old broken 2.5 motors in the garbage. I have a old beatup motor that I'm going to exchange when the funds in my wallet are available. traxxas does it again - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 02-22-2006 man cool stuff! I wish they got rid of those gay ass stock bodies tho |
