Count me out

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 06-07-2006

Matt, the new truggy project looks good! Should be a fun driver.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Ponch - 06-07-2006

I sure hope so Dave. I got the chrome-top starter box yesterday and that thing (at times) was a pain in the rear to assemble!

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - joey - 06-07-2006

looks cool , should be a great basher k's are tanks for real, and you can use some 777 parts on there also. im not sure but i think somebody told me if you change the uni's you can use the 777 chassis as well but im not totally sure becuase i have never done it.

What's the advantage to running the 777 chassis over the 7.5 one?

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - joey - 06-07-2006

its longer less of driving a square lol

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Ponch - 06-07-2006

Really? I'll have to semi-look into it lol.

So supposedly, all you'd have to do is get some 777 center universals and chassis and everything else would drop in?

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 06-07-2006

you would have to get the front end suspension parts, arms blocks etc i think the front uni's are the same but the centers are different

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - joey - 06-07-2006

ya what he said he knows more than i lol

See.... money pit. I think I said that at the time of purchase. Big Grin Have fun though...

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Ponch - 06-07-2006

Yeah, screw that. I'll have fun with my square Big Grin

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 06-07-2006

That's the right attitude!

Make the most of what you've got, and don't worry about the rest.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - cemeb4dk - 06-07-2006

I am almost positive that the 777sp1 is not longer than the k2. If I am wrong, Iknow for sure the engine sits closer to the front on the 777sp1. This is why they made the sp2. Which is longer and the engine sits more rearward. I also believe the sp2 chassis is closer to the k2 chassis than the 777 sp1 is.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 06-07-2006

sp2 is same length as the k2 its just that the tuning and stuff that comes with the sp2 suspension geometry is nice. You could change everything on the K cars and not notice any difference with the sp2 u get more tuneability

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - cemeb4dk - 06-07-2006

Thats what I htought so the sp1 is shorter.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Ponch - 06-07-2006

Alright- I'm having a problem w/ my starter box. When I set the chassis down on it, and try to start up the wheel, it instantly hits the chassis without a chance to speed up. Should i just make the opening on my chassis bigger? I don't think I should, I know when I had a k2 before on the same box it fit just fine for me. Help!

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 06-07-2006

Lower motor mount or larger flywheel, or both.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - UE-Maxx - 06-07-2006

I don't know if you can adjust the wheel height on the box or not, but if you can try lowering it.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 06-07-2006

get a new wheel that should solve ur problem. and just make sure its all lined up right

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Ponch - 06-07-2006

UE-Maxx Wrote:I don't know if you can adjust the wheel height on the box or not, but if you can try lowering it.

I looked and I can't.

I think I figured it out though, I put a spacer between the lid of the box and the part that the lid screws onto, and then that pushed the lid up some, and then I used some of the alignment things for the lid to prop up the truck higher. Seems to work, I just can't push all the way down. There's got to be a better way though.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Traxxas_Junkee - 06-07-2006

Like you said the wheel won't have to go that far up into the chassis, just enough to hit the flywheel.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Ponch - 06-07-2006

Yeah...And then a-durr...If the flywheel hits the big wheel then I can't push down anymore so it won't rub as long as the flywheel sits low enough.

Kanai II Truggy Buildup - Ponch - 06-09-2006

Woah hey, what's this???
