Mr. Tune Wrote:Audio systems are almost a must have for anyone who drives alot! I got all JL stuff in my truck. A very nice stealth box off to the side houses a 10W3 and it's powered by a JL amp that's in a hidden compartment. Having maximum space for my rc's was my main priority Smile. I spent close to 1k for my setup. That box was the most expensive part, lol.

Those are nice but you could have saved some major $$$ on that box. JL's are nice (I had 2) but are over priced IMO.

I wasn't in the mood to search for a killer deal, lol. I went to the place my brother had been going to for years. They had everthing in stock and met all my demands for my install requirements. Dropped the car off and picked it up the next day. I've installed my own stuff in the past, but this time I was just too damn lazy. I let them do everything, lol.

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - FreeRideFrosty - 09-10-2006

Gotcha. Those setups do sound killer though don't get me wrong.

anyone want to buy some speakers and an amp?

lol...... I'm done with the systems

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - destroy_my_revo_15 - 09-11-2006

i want them but they dont fit lol

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - FreeRideFrosty - 09-11-2006

dmr-- you really don't need 4 subs. No one really needs 4 subs. In a truck 1 10" is more than enough....

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - destroy_my_revo_15 - 09-11-2006

yea ive been kinda busy over the weekend. dan, mostly i listen to rock and rap (i kno it makes no sense) do u have links or names of the stuff u recommend so that i could look it up plz. im hoping to get a little bit of time to work on my truck this weekend and then i could get measurements for a sub box..... thanks a bunch

I have 2 12's in my truck and its sweet. Thinking about getting another 2 for the hell of it. Also get a kick panel at the same time. Possibly speakers on the back of the seats as well. After that il get rid of my current subs and get 4 15 inch subs in the bed of my truck with each of them there own amp and battery.

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - destroy_my_revo_15 - 09-11-2006

whats a kick panel?

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - Michowski - 09-11-2006

I have no idea but they make one for my truck and its for your audio system

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - destroy_my_revo_15 - 09-11-2006

Wow.... you want to buy something for your truck and you have no idea what it does. Rolleyes

For rock and rap you can get away just fine with a 10" sub in a properly built ported box, tuned at the right frequency. It will still hit hard and fast for rock but will give you a few extra dB when you want them for the low rap hits. I will try to get links up later. If Koz's Mugen checks this out he should have some good links as well.....

You going to cover it in something or is he?

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - Michowski - 09-11-2006

damn now thats thick wood. Very nice box. If I may ask how come you didnt seperate the subs?

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - Koz's-Mugen - 09-11-2006

Revo2k Wrote:You going to cover it in something or is he?
nope i sold it to him for 50 bucks like that. He didnt want any carpet yet since he was still going to mount amps, caps, distrobution blocks, and a think have a raised chevy logo underneath the carpet

its just baby 3/4" you gota see what i need for my next boxCool
with him properly powering his 8 subs there will be a gain of 6-10 DB's with the box this way.

Hey frosty, is this a good amp? http://www.infinitysystems.com/caraudio/product.aspx?ProdId='REF1211A'&Ser=REF&Cat=AMP

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - FreeRideFrosty - 09-12-2006

I have no experience with it, but from looking at the specs, and having heard their kappa perfects on several occasions, I would have no problem with that amp.....

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - Michowski - 09-12-2006

or what about this amp http://www.crutchfield.com/S-jCgLwkWMDBf/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=120&I=500MRDM105

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - Michowski - 09-12-2006

im talking about would those be good for my truck? Are they decent amps? Would they be better then what I got?

Audio, custom and standard upgrades - FreeRideFrosty - 09-12-2006

That alpine amp is very nice. Now I can't say if it will be better..... because I don't know what amp you are running right now.
