midwest nitrocross series - mfanke19 - 12-21-2006 Well guys, I talked to Bernie at Leisure Hours Raceway, and he is arranging for us to have our 7th race ( 3rd Illinois race ) back at Leisure Hours in the late summer. The neat thing is that our early round will most probably have the indoor track, and the later round will most probably be on the outdoor track. So it's still like we're at two different tracks . In return, Bernie is offering to supply our series end trophies...a very generous offer midwest nitrocross series - satoch - 12-21-2006 Very cool Bernie! midwest nitrocross series - Casketman - 12-22-2006 Sweet, and yea your right. Same place, two different tracks. Nice deal, never thought about it that way. midwest nitrocross series - mfanke19 - 12-22-2006 So here's the deal regarding the big prizes for 2007. In 2006, Bill at His And Hers Hobbies donated a Jammin Truggy. This year, he's donating four(4) $25 Gift Certificates at each race, one for each class winner. That's big money over the course of the season for the guys that consistently win! Especially if that guy races more than one class! That means that at the end of the year, we don't have a LARGE prize to give away since Bill is spreading it out over the course of the summer. Instead, we were thinking about just raffling off a large CASH prize for the winner to do whatever they wanted. The cash would come largely from the entry fees paid in, and any surplus cash sponsors once all the "bills" are paid, like the website, message boards, trophies, fliers, banner, banquet, etc. Also this year we will be having the 50/50 raffle at each round...where 50% of the money raised goes to one or two lucky winners at each round...and the other 50% of that goes into the banquet purse. So there are no promises as far as how much cash will be earned...it should amount to at least $350...it could end up being close to $1,000! But again, no promises. Now you have a choice...how to distribute that cash purse at the end of the series. You guys need to read the voting descriptions carefully and you only get a chance to vote once...so make it count. There are choices whether to split the cash up to one winner, or cash only to two or more winners. There are also choices to buy car kits at Hobby Shop Cost ( or less depending on vendor cooperation ) to get more bang for your buck, and raffle the remaining cash off. For example, Midwest Nitrocross could get a Losi 8ight buggy kit ( not RTR ) for about $450...whereas buying it out there by yourself would cost you around $550. I'm trying to get Team Losi and a couple other Manufacturers to cooperate with us this year, so maybe we could get it even cheaper? Remember, the raffle at the end of the year is open only to the racers that showed up to the Midwest Nitrocross events and paid to race. Racers don't pay for these tickets, they are awarded tickets...one for each paid round attended. One bonus ticket will be awarded to those that WIN their event. For example, if ten people show up and race for Midwest Nitrocross points in the 8th Scale Truck class at Leisure Hours, all ten racers will receive one ticket for that round at the end of the year. The exception would be the winner...he would also receive an additional ticket for winning. Also guys, keep in mind that this is a "MUST BE PRESENT AT TIME OF RAFFLE" event. Our sponsors are putting up a LOT of money for these prizes, and you guys are putting in a LOT of money to race...the least I can do is support you and our sponsors by requesting that you be present at the awards banquet so you can receive the raffle prizes in person! Let me be more specific, the trophies are something you earn during the year, and you do NOT need to be present to be awarded the trophies, if you cannot make it to the awards banquet, then these trophies will be shipped to you if necessary. The 2006 banquet was held on Friday, October 13th at His And Hers Hobbies, and that approximate time frame looks tentative for this coming October 2007. Plan ahead! So the choice is yours guys, think about it and vote wisely You must go to the following link to vote...and register if you haven't done so yet. http://rc-racer.midwestnitrocross.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=1233 midwest nitrocross series - chickenfarmer3 - 12-22-2006 midwest nitrocross series - kevinF - 12-22-2006 for the gold membership thats $45, does that mean only I can race but i cant bring like say my dad too watch or pit??? or w/e midwest nitrocross series - Ponch - 12-22-2006 Kevin, as long as your dad isn't racing, I think it'll be fine. Gold Membership…$45.00 Gold Membership can be purchased at the track on race day or online via PayPal. Gold Membership will include race entry in UNLIMITED classes for the entire season, regardless of whether you sign up for one class or all four. Gold Family Membership…$80.00 Gold Membership can be purchased at the track on race day or online via PayPal. Gold Family Membership will include race entry in UNLIMITED classes for the entire season, regardless of whether you sign up for one class or all four. ( Gold Family Memberships include Driver parent(s) and any children in the household ) With the gold family membership, it would be like if you and your dad raced.. midwest nitrocross series - mfanke19 - 12-22-2006 Ponch is right...there is no limit to how many people you bring with to spectate, pit for you, man the grill, etc. By all means, if dad is into r/c, bring him with! In fact...buy him a family membership for christmas...then he'd practically be OBLIGATED to come with you all season long to race with his boy! midwest nitrocross series - kevinF - 12-22-2006 lol, I wish hes not into r/c, he wont get into it, tried many many times , lol..............thanks for claryfying that mfanke, so buying like the gold membership will save you money and you pay once and then you dont have to pay at each event? midwest nitrocross series - Ponch - 12-22-2006 ¿Sí Kevin, no puede usted leer inglés? Dice eso derecho allí. midwest nitrocross series - kevinF - 12-22-2006 english dumbazz.........this is america you said something about me not understanding in english... midwest nitrocross series - Ponch - 12-22-2006 Yes Kevin, can't you read English? He says that right there. midwest nitrocross series - kevinF - 12-22-2006 yeah now I see midwest nitrocross series - GWPHOENIX - 12-22-2006 matt do we stll have to pay the track race fee? the membership only covers the MWNX right midwest nitrocross series - kanai kid - 12-22-2006 from what i have been told, you will still have to pay your fee to the track itself but will not have to pay MWNX. so, if we were racing at lh, you would pay lh to race in your classes. then you would just let matt (mfanke) know that you are there and he would see that you have the membership and you would be set for the MWNX. matt correct me if i am wrong though? midwest nitrocross series - mfanke19 - 12-22-2006 Ok, here's how it works. Somebody used Leisure Hours as an example. So say you go to Leisure Hours Raceway on Sunday, April 22. If you are there to race the regular Leisure Hours race that has nothing to do with Midwest Nitrocross...then you just pay the regular admission...which I think is like $15 for the day. However if you want to run for Midwest Nitrocross points, then you have to find my pit, and pay me $6 for the one day event...or you can pay me $45 to be a Gold Member for the remainder of the season. In the case that you choose to go the Gold route, then you will never have to pay me again for the rest of the year. Or if you're into the family plan, that would be $80. Keep in mind that the fees you pay to me have nothing to do with the fees that the host track charges every week. So whether you pay me every week, or once at the beginning of the series, you will always have to go register and pay with the main track every round for their basic track fee. Keep in mind, you also have the "Titanium" membership choice, which includes a t-shirt and a plaque. The Titanium option is $65.00, but must be paid for in full by cash or online via PayPal by March 31, 2007. I hope I explained this... midwest nitrocross series - GWPHOENIX - 12-22-2006 thats clear enugh for me. i'll make arangments to hook up with you for the titanium plan. midwest nitrocross series - Casketman - 12-22-2006 Same midwest nitrocross series - mfanke19 - 12-24-2006 I started setting up PayPal links so that anybody can go to my website and click on links to pay directly for memberships, tshirts, etc. Hopefully I'll have the website completely updated before the 1st of the new year. midwest nitrocross series - mfanke19 - 12-24-2006 It's Christmas Eve, and the last thing on most of our minds today is the upcoming R/C racing season. Unless of course you're expecting a new R/C related toy or two from Santa! Well, I'm not expecting any "toys" from Santa...but I do think he will be dropping off a bit of cash, so I can deck out my new truggy for next year! Woohoo! The last couple days I've been busy equipping the website with a "shopping cart". If you scroll down towards the bottom of the main Midwest Nitrocross website ( http://www.mwnx.com ) you'll see what I'm talking about. Now you have the option to purchase any level of membership for the 2007 Midwest Nitrocross series, or pre-order your new 2007 Tshirt. Well, I have a lot to accomplish in the next 24 hours, so I guess I should get back to work! If I don't talk to you before then...have a Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, all that good stuff. Remember, this is the only time of year that you have no excuse not to eat too much. And while you're relaxing after the meals, log on and let us know what Santa brought ya! Christmas time might have been the least optimum time for me to put this all together. I'm suprised I have as much established as I do. Hey Gary, question for ya. One of the guys on Sgrid mentioned that since I scheduled Rnd6 at Leisure Hours on the same weekend as the big race at Dirtburners, the normal crowd at Leisures would probably be out of town. My thinking is that most of my racers aren't likely to travel to St. Louis anyway. What are your thoughts? midwest nitrocross series - GWPHOENIX - 12-29-2006 Thats a good question. I think most of the guys that will go to Durtburners race will be the top guys. Which I do not see them partisipating in the MWNX turminit anyway. Even when the top guys go to other races Leisure Hours still has a decent turnout. Besides I think what will determin how well the series, goes as far as popularity, will be the first 2 or 3 races. I wouldn't change the date Right now its all about publisity!! any one else? midwest nitrocross series - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 12-29-2006 what is the race at dirtburners? |
