Or just sell some schlub newb another blown motor, you have lots of those punkazz!!!! LOL Wink

Problem - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-05-2007

90 plus tax thats gonna be over 200 so i was exaggerating sue me

Joe go sell some tires u got for free at a big race or something would ya

Problem - Tex - 01-06-2007

I think the $5 "rental fee" is very reasonable, and you don't get your money back after you return the transponder. What this will do is cause people to go buy PT's because after 20 races you would have paid for one anyway and still not have anything to show for it.

What it also does (track keeping the rental fees) is make some petty cash available for the time when the track needs to buy a new transponder (either broken or lost).

Problem - Tex - 01-06-2007

remember, it's a convenience the track provides to the racers, they don't owe it to us to let us use their house transponders.

If you want to come out and race (and be timed for it) then pony up the loot for a PT.

I know how it feels to have to use house transponders, I used them my first 2 years of racing. Instead of buying a PT I would blow the money on shit I didn't need at Al's.

I would much rather have a deposit. Right now I don't have spare cash to toss down on a personal, and I would rather not get nickled and dimed to death each week. $15 to $20 to race turns into a pretty big jump....

Problem - SEEKandDESTROY2 - 01-06-2007

Hey Bernie has the transponder shown up yet? I was shipped out four days ago, Priority so it has to be there.

Problem - Tex - 01-06-2007

Frosty, don't give me the nickle and dimed to death chit, you have soooo many toys that are worth tons of cash...pick and choose your hobbies bro....If I could get into car stereos, bicycles, and RC all at once I would too! I can't so I chose RC.

The track had to buy 10-20 house transponders at once for our convenience, not because they owed it to us. House transponders cost $200 each.

Problem - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-06-2007

tex believe me im not pissing my money away on shit i dont need lol

I understand, and I am grateful. I am in a position right now where I am able to be in all of those hobbies. My car audio has not changed at all and probably won't. I buy and sell bikes but never lose money on them. I just got back into RC after being stupid and selling my stuff. I cannot afford a personal right now. I understand the house transponders are expensive.... I am very grateful that they are there. Writing that $10,000+ check each semester to U of I doesn't leave a whole lot extra. $5 becomes a lot after a while..... Believe me, I wish I could buy one right now. I can't. If I shouldn't be allowed to race because of it then that's fine. I think a deposit is acceptable.

Thats the summed up version of my reply.

Problem - Tex - 01-06-2007

when you sell your snowboard, you could buy a PT?

Tex Wrote:when you sell your snowboard, you could buy a PT?

If I have leftover cash. I need to buy a frame and fork to race on this fall..... Big Grin

Problem - kevinF - 01-06-2007

dan, why dont you take 5-10 dollars out of your wallet **EVERY** week and put that money into a box and keep it under your bed or hidden or w/e and within 10-18 weeks youll have enough to buy a transponder.

thats what im going to do, that way your not spending 90+ dollars in one day.

Problem - FreeRideFrosty - 01-06-2007

Because no money is going back into my wallet.... therefore nowhere to get the money from. I am not working right now. Just going to school. (Job fell through for over break.) I should be working next semester but for now nothing....

if you have no job or money, how are you paying to race??? dive your car??? pay the school?

Problem - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-06-2007

ya my money either goes to gas or paying for all my other rc sh!t

Problem - HAGASAN - 01-06-2007

Free tires? I gave those tires away to someone dumazz and i kept the other set for myself. Do i feel a rematch coming on? Wink

traxxas thrasher Wrote:if you have no job or money, how are you paying to race??? dive your car??? pay the school?

I worked my ass off up until this point. I saved enough to pay for my first semester outright and am getting help from family for the second. I had enough left over to pay for gas and stuff like that. I then take stuff of value that I no longer use (bike parts, frames, etc) and sell them... I buy what I need and have been doing allright so far. I am aiming to have a job second semester....

Problem - HAGASAN - 01-06-2007

Homer sells the PT's for $85.

I agree with Tex. The house ones are for the racers newbies on a tight budget, not for guys that have been racing for sometime and know better.

Problem - HAGASAN - 01-06-2007

Frosty, you dont do this racing stuff enough to need a PT. Your a multi-hobby kid just like Mikey. (but that punk knows better)

That's what I'm trying to get accross to Tex..... especially since I will be back and forth to school and not racing on a consistant basis.

Problem - kevinF - 01-06-2007

yeha I use the house, cause i dont have a job and am on a tight budget.

hopefully leisure hours finds a way to make sure no one wlaks off with the house transponders and they keep them
