I dont " plan" street races... This isnt the set of fast in furious... John 78 said it all... A few years ago the illinios state police showed my the errors of my ways

If i happen to fall into a street light race with someone by chance.... Thats a differnt story... Id be happy to show people what an 01' thats been lightly massaged can do....
My car is 4 years old and i KNOW i can still run with 90% thats currently out there... BUT its my daily driver and trans, ENGINES and rear ends are rather expensive and its hard to pay for those things when you cant drive to work....

I just went on a call today where to young punks were drag racing and one guy had a family filled mini van pull out in front of him.... He rolled his car and ended up on top of ... YES ON TOP OF(roof to roof) the mini van with 6 lil kids in it... Luckly nobody was killed.. But if those kids were taller they surely would have had there necks broke by the roof colapsing in on them...
Just somthin to think about ... I know it made me think.

Times have changed.....its not anything like f&f.....that movie is a frigging joke to ANY true street racer....If you notice my user title it says EX street racer. Yes I used to street race. Schaumburg police showed me the error of MY ways. But I still have plenty of friends that do it every night.......oh and by the way rocco i have a friend with a 69 nova with a big block that runs 9's.....on motor.....and he'll drive it ANYWHERE. From Wauconda to The Grove in WI and back home.... oh and did i mention hes pushing 80 years old? ....thats a true street car....or how about a certian orange z-28. Street car......im not 100% sure but id be willing to bet its in the mid to low 10's on motor.....and its street driven everyday. Or my boss has an 01 T/A WS6 lightly modded with bolt ons.....mid to low 11's on motor.....and he drives it everyday.....

Daily driver doesnt mean s**t these days......trust me.....

Wanna Race??

Simple Green. - rocco79 - 06-18-2005

Maybe you missed my point.... Daily driver means daily money too me... And that much MUCH more important to me than flexin on some guy for street cred.....

And as for the 3 cars you listed, im sure there aewsome... But WOOOPIED DOOO!!!! In life there is ALWAYS going to be someone Faster, smater, richer or better looking than you ...

Whats your point???? Daily driver doesnt mean i drive it in the summer.... My car gets me too work in a foot of snow and - 20 degree days... My car is a cargo van for r/c... My car is my home away from home Anyone who knows me knows that often my back seat is hidden by uniforms, work clothes and countless papers and Fire dept. books and crap like that.... Thats a daily driver..

And i know fast and furious is a joke, i kinda felt that way about you asking me to race. If your a street (ex)racer i thought you'd know you shouldnt set that stuff up on public forums...

Like i said i dont "set up" races...

Simple Green. - John78 - 06-19-2005

Lee, if you are looking to race someone that bad, PM BigD. From what I understand he knows a few people that street race anywhere and everywhere.

I know the "old man" too...and if you know his routine for "driving" that thing to the track and back, it's debateable how much of a street car it is. Not to say its not impressive, but its not really all that street driveable.

Simple Green. - rocco79 - 06-19-2005

Ill "chillax" once i figure out what it means....

So you hate fords so you feel the need to pester me for a race???

I figured someone that works at a Lees Auto Parts (i assume by the screen name) would like fords... Concidering im sure you sell many parts too them... There kinda like job security fella... Ya know cuz there such P.O.S.. Rolleyes

Well lee..... I must know if you hate fords... What do you like??? Imports?? Chevys??? Dare i say dodge?? What does the "ex" Street racer like????

Simple Green. - Obsessive R/C - 06-19-2005

Hee...Hee This is fun Big Grin

Simple Green. - John78 - 06-21-2005

What happened, this fire died out quickly

Simple Green. - rocco79 - 06-21-2005

..Then pour some gas on it trouble maker!!!

Simple Green. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 06-21-2005

So what exactly does eveyone drive these days?
I think I read Rocco has a Cobra... What is it? Year, color, mods?
I know Mr. Tune's email says something about a Cobra, too.

My 2 cents on street racing...It's all fine if you are in the sticks where you can be sure no one will pull in front of you or be standing along the roadway. Years and years ago we had a place in Frankfort-Mokena area along 80th avenue that was perfect. I went by there last weekend and there were houses there now!

I'll start a new arguement, I mean thread, later but i always felt that if you wanted fast (without spending a ton of money) get a motorcycle. My two Kawasakis would take just about any car on the street, and you could always tell the ones you couldn't beat just by looking and listening.

Simple Green. - rocco79 - 06-21-2005

01' Cobra
-silver
-stock crome wheels
-Black leather and faux swede interior
- lots of bolt on goodies.... I dont totally wanna show my hand

Crotch rockets are superior too almost all cars...ALMOST

Simple Green. - John78 - 06-21-2005

Well Roc, I wouldn't know what to say to get the fire started again. haha. As for me, I don't drive anything fast, that's why I ride with Roc and get him to race! Crotch rockets are cool but I can say that if I had one I would be a stain on the street already.

Simple Green. - rocco79 - 06-21-2005

John 78 is my lil devil that sits on my shoulder!

Simple Green. - Mr. Tune - 06-21-2005

I used to own a cobra, a black 97 to be exact. It's gone now, replaced by a trailblazer (much better rc transporter).

Simple Green. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 06-21-2005

I always found it more fun to poke at my friends to beat on their cars than doing it myself. One night my buddy and I got pulled over when he took my "advice" and was doing 125mph "at a great spot where there's never any cops."

Simple Green. - rocco79 - 06-21-2005

LOL!!!! Dave!!!

Simple Green. - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 06-21-2005

It was tragic and funny at the same time!!!

I was in the passenger seat while he flies by this Tinley Park cop at 127 mph. The trooper pulls out and chases him down without any headlights just to see if he'll run for it. He got an extra ticket for running a stop sign as we "tried" to get away. As the cop cuffed him and put him in the back of the car, he told us that he catches someone every night doing over 100mph in that spot.

I guess I was always lucky that I flew throught there in the daytime!!!

chillax....a cross betowwn chill and relax....and i do work at Lee....in Wauconda. ANd everytime someone comes in for a part for a ford (which is a lot) i cringe. For the record i have owned 2 ford trucks. thier trucks are great. 92 f-150 and a 90 bronco. thier cars blow. they have so many problems. even thier OEM parts suck. One of my best accounts is a FORD DEALER. and they get 90 percent of thier parts from me. I ask them why they dont have parts for thier cars and i get "we do we just want quality parts" im a chevy guy. but i do like ponitacs too. a true pontiac...not one with a chevy engine in it.

Simple Green. - rocco79 - 06-25-2005

Welcome back to the thread Lee.... You forgot to state what it is you drive?

No offense to you or lee auto parts but i canr see aftermarket parts being better than OEM... Thats just me though.... Im not in the biz though so i guess i wouldnt know
