Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - looker2756 - 06-11-2007 Here is another link. This guy is also working at largescalerc. He builds these cars himself by hand mostly. His cars are race winners in the 1/4 scale on-road series, as he is a 1/4 scale past champ himself. I would say most are hand built by few mfgs.. The 1/5 scale off-road are a ton of fun. The best way to describe it is, it's weight & size makes it drive nearly totally realistic. Cool to hang the rear out with a 5b in a 180 & let it hook up & rocket down a straight. Traction is way better at around 40lbs. The torque of the big engines & clutches with the weight = closer to real scale power to weight ratios. http://www.quarterscalecars.com/ Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - J-Dub - 06-11-2007 I bet the buggy would be sick on the outdoor track at LHR. but I bet they would put ruts in pretty quick. Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 06-11-2007 shit cant get muany more ruts than its already got lol Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - J-Dub - 06-12-2007 Czech-it-Out Graphics Wrote:shit cant get muany more ruts than its already got lol I know but a big 1/5 scale buggy would prolly tear up way bigger ones than truggys and buggys Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - FreeRideFrosty - 06-12-2007 What is the after market like right now for a 5b? Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - bubbaracing - 06-12-2007 For as long as they've been out i'm sure there is good aftermarket support for them! I've seen stuff for them in a few different places! You gonna get a 5B Dan! Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - FreeRideFrosty - 06-12-2007 bubbaracing Wrote:For as long as they've been out i'm sure there is good aftermarket support for them! I've seen stuff for them in a few different places! You gonna get a 5B Dan! I am toying with a 1/5 scale idea. Not sure on or of road though. I have some other purchases that have to go first though. I am really curious as to aftermarket options though. It seems like for the most part you can add better brakes, different motor, pipe, and servos. Doesn't seem like much more above that.... Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - bubbaracing - 06-12-2007 From what i've seen of them that's all they'd need! Pretty durable otherwise! Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - looker2756 - 06-12-2007 The 5b has so many options it's crazy. You can go aluminum on stuff, Add lights, upgraded clutches, brakes, axles, tires & wheels, chassis, Even Carbon fiber bodies if thats what you want. At this point the 5b & the FG have the most options on upgrades. I would suggest outerwears filters on any of them !! Like was already said, They don't need much. The stock set-up is really good on all of the bigger stuff. The 5b is a blast to drive & with a few mods, it can be a wheelie machine & run over 50 mph., The look is way cool too ! Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - J-Dub - 06-12-2007 the 5B comes stock with a 23cc engine, but you can prolly fit like a 30.5 CC in there w Jet Pro Pipe and some gear Im sure it screams to speeds of like 50-60 Anyone have 1/5 scales ? - looker2756 - 06-13-2007 Have to add a few action shots. These were from last year in the early spring. This was 5b #1 & these tests were with jetpro pipe only. It was amazing in a sweeper turn. The other buggys are Smartech & an FG beetle. With all 4 close racing was awesome. They were running like 10 lap voice call out races. Just for some fun & getting ideas of performance in the 2wd classes. |
