Hey! New guy here Check this out! - cheesecake - 05-20-2008 AddictedtoNITRO Wrote:small.... who cares, the guy is trying to help out everyone. I'm nowhere even close to you but good luck! size does matter when it comes to track size especially when racing 1/8 scale. and it seems to be a business. not hey i have this land in my yard come and play so he needs to keep a business aspect of it and decide what he can and cant run on the track sadly i think it is to small for 1/8 scale ill give it a try but im not to sure how well it will work Hey! New guy here Check this out! - cheesecake - 05-20-2008 another thing i see is a problem is trying to please diffrent aspects of the hobby. you have to wory about running 2 diffrent race venues on diffrent days or diffrent time in the day. plus then if you have ahobby shop with it it will add the fact you need more inventory to keep people coming in if they need parts and such Hey! New guy here Check this out! - GeraldRisch - 05-21-2008 Stingrayguy: Great to see somebody getting the initiative to build a track out here. Live in Lake in the Hills and traveling 85 miles (each way) to LeisureHoursRaceway takes 3 hours of driving time total. And yes, I'm bending the speed limit at times. Recently purchased a buggy for the dirt. 1/16 scale (as big as my shoe). Love it and will be moving up to a bigger buggy later. Anyways, PM me if you need help with the track. I work nights and can re-arrange sleep and I have no kids to work around. Well the wife (ouch), will need some extra attention. Keep in touch and stay committed. Hey! New guy here Check this out! - J-Dub - 05-21-2008 I think 8th scales need at least like 125x100 to stretch their legs...any less would seem cramped and small. I'd say it'd be decent for like stock truck and buggy. Mod wouldnt be able to stretch legs. Hate to critisize but the facts are there. But alot of guys race electric still. Hey! New guy here Check this out! - Astro - 05-21-2008 Wizard, there is a place we bash just off Milwaukee rd by the Sybris just past wheeling. It's in the forrest preserve. Ibash in front of my house too.On sundays we head up to Crystal Lake HT and race the pavement. I hope this happens. I'l getting into stadium trucks so this track will be good enough to run on. Hey! New guy here Check this out! - bcrazygdl - 05-21-2008 It's great news...I live on Gilberts and is going to be really close for me...But people complaints about everything...distance,size,carpet or no carpet, indoor, outdoor, etc what is grong? i really don't get it...we talk about not to many race tracks on the area... and people keep posting negative stuff...Why you don't let people to decide about it...if does not fit ur needs maybe will for anothers not so advance...please don't scare people before the show starts... Hey! New guy here Check this out! - bcrazygdl - 05-21-2008 BTW...i'm willing to help u too..let me know...i know latinwizard so we can get togheter and help u... Hey! New guy here Check this out! - latinwizard2005 - 05-21-2008 I agree size matters, but this still does not justify any complaints, I say if you go, good, if you dont, no one will be missed Hey! New guy here Check this out! - latinwizard2005 - 05-21-2008 Hey Astro, Yeah I have alot of complaining neighbors so I usually will bach at the inlaws whcih is few and far between or with my bud, btu they are quite a drive to get to so i have found myself running in the emtpy Walmart parking lot, there have been a few people up there racing on occasion, I havent made up to HT tis year btu will do so in 3 weeks time. Hey! New guy here Check this out! - BobWoodhouse - 05-21-2008 Dear prospective track owner, I know that the Madison area indoor dirt track, RC Performance, is pulling out the dirt and putting in carpet. With that example, I would do some more marketing research. Maybe indoor carpet on-road would be a better business? I think most of the track "complaints" are really valuable pieces of market feedback. Business is business. Fun is fun. Business is not fun. Best of luck. Hey! New guy here Check this out! - Gravis - 05-22-2008 hey... Nice to here that someone is trying something local. I'm in the Elgin/Gilberts area too, so your location is just a quick shot up Randall for me. Right now I'm just running in my yard/street so I'll definately come check it out and posibbly try and give yah a hand if im not working. Hey! New guy here Check this out! - stingrayguy - 05-22-2008 Awesome! Thanks guys! We are still going with this. Its small...... but its all we have. A place to play is better than no place at all. Atleast thats the way I look at it. Like I said the track will make up for its small size. lol not how big your boat is.. its how fast ya sink it.. lol JK Hey! New guy here Check this out! - stingrayguy - 05-27-2008 Hey. Still going for it. Any other locals??? Gravis- where about in elgin are you? I work in elgin. Hey! New guy here Check this out! - Chimer34 - 05-27-2008 I hope you follow through with this track. I live in Woodstock and am tired of driving so far to race. I have a B4 and a T4 and I don't think the track is too small. I am guessing it's about the same as Trackside. All of you 1/8 nitro guys need to stop saying the track is too small and change your driving-maybe you won't need full throttle-give it a shot! Brushless and Li-Po off you go!!alute: Hey! New guy here Check this out! - stingrayguy - 05-27-2008 Glad to here! We are going to have a huge open race weekend.. We will be grilling and ready to race., We need more track layout ideas!
