I'm going to use some fuel line (or something) and line the cuts. Maybe use a little glue to hold it in place.

Just use a flame and carefully melt the edges of the openings until they smooth out. Or you could use door edge guard, found at an auto parts store. But even that stuff will come off eventually.

You could use some Shoe-goo and reinforce that area too. I did that on one body I had a seemed to work pretty good.

ShooGoo a scrap piece of lexan under the thin area and build it up to be stronger....

I've actually got fiberglass cloth and shoo goo for bodies, it's super strong.
