Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread - joey - 01-09-2007 mikeh Wrote:Okay, well my first drive of the TTR ST-1 went well. Slim's P5 was awesome! Fired right up, drove like a scalded ape! Yes the ones they sell now should all be the updated ones, that are much better. I saw the flywheel on the stock one and it too small to reach through the chassis to the starter wheel. I am using the stock motor mounts on mine. No new engines....the wife just "noticed" the GT in the garage this morning, so I'm busted on that expenditure . Now if it can get a larger flywheel to reach the starter box, I could keep the PS on there for warm starts...hmmm. I'll have to do some research on a new FW! Thanks Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread - joey - 01-09-2007 i dont see why the stock TTR flywheel wouldnt work, if thats what is on there? Have you tried bump starting it like it is? Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-09-2007 Not in earnest....Mike and I just looked at it "in the heat of battle" in the pits last night and kinda presumed it wasn't gonna reach in there. Maybe the chassis opening was too small for the starter wheel....dunno, I'll look at it with one of my boxes to see if it can be done. Thanks for the idea. Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread - joey - 01-09-2007 if that doesnt work, might open it up a little but there is so much flex at that part of the chassis that it might not be the best idea. maybe thats different than the S3 fly wheel, i have a new S3 flywheel i can send ya if that will help? Yeah, I had a bag of new spare parts included, and the new rod ends did not have the extra hole after the ball end. I suppose those are the new versions. They did not break again last night after I installed them. That was my only issue with the truck. It feels well balanced and easy to control in the air. It almost made me look like a fair driver. I'll just get it from Mike Czech. He should be giving away his TTR stuff here shortly.... Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread - joey - 01-09-2007 ya those are the updated ones they should be ok. Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-09-2007 dave u need a flywheel? Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-09-2007 More like advise on proper starter box setup using the stock .28 engine....do I need a different flywheel? Official Thunder Tiger ST-1 Thread - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 01-09-2007 should its identical to the S3, what box are u using, maybe u need to cut down the posts and or springs on it to get the lever to sit lower, i know i had to cut down the posts on both my boxes for my K3 and it worked since then |
