DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 Wrote:I just had the motor out of the Revo last night. What moron designed that thing to have two star washers inside the motor mount? OMG I battled getting them back in for ten minutes. There's got to be a better way.
If you loosen the mounts (4 screws) where they go through the chassis, the mounts spread open slightly and there is just enough room to slide the star washers in.

It would go in, but you would have to make a custom throttle linkage for the rotary carb.

general revo discussion - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-09-2006

i think it comes with a slide carb? is there any power advantage?

general revo discussion - Ponch - 02-09-2006

CVRX won't fit because of the side exhaust. It would go out the middle. I've seen it done, but looks complicated and funny.

general revo discussion - Obsessive R/C - 02-09-2006

Yeah, I forgot about the side exhaust.

general revo discussion - Tex - 02-09-2006

you can get a cvrx with a rotary or slide carbWink

general revo discussion - snakebite46 - 02-09-2006

You can use a dab of grease to hold them star washers in place when installing the mount.

Thanks for the useful tech tip, Rich! I will try that if I ever have it apart again.

Oooh, another winged revo. Looking good!

general revo discussion - Tex - 02-10-2006

I'm curious why you chose orange?

general revo discussion - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-10-2006

That wing should look familiar. Now I need a better looking shell.

Ryan wanted orange...so it's orange. I have a green Mugen as a spare, also.

And I haven't seen another orange one, so It's different.

general revo discussion - JOE - 02-10-2006

ya 2 more hp and better fuel milage probably like 20 minute run times now

general revo discussion - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-10-2006

I just need some Japanese language decals......

general revo discussion - JOE - 02-10-2006

i wouldnt do that makes it harder to tune it

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 02-11-2006

That looks really good. Not a tad crooked like mine. LoL

Now do you really think I would post a picture that shows how crooked it is?

No one will be putting a level on it as it runs around the track tomorrow.

general revo discussion - FreeRideFrosty - 02-11-2006

LMAO... so you will be racing on Sunday I'm guessing??

general revo discussion - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-11-2006

si senor. Ryan's turn to drive. eek.

general revo discussion - Blown5.0 - 02-13-2006

Has anyone noticed the rod going from the carb to the throttle servo flex? I installed a Teckno throttle/brake mount, eliminating the stock Revo box and noticed the rod really flexes/bowes when going full throttle. I never noticed this before, but again the stock Revo throttle/reverse servo box was blocking most of the rod. The carb seems to operate smooth without any binding but the rod really flexes. Just wondering if anyone else noticed the same thing?

general revo discussion - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 02-13-2006

Adjust the travel endpoint on your radio so it's not pushing or pulling too far and straining the carb or linkage.

general revo discussion - Blown5.0 - 02-13-2006

I don't think it's a endpoint setting since it starts flexing before 1/2 throttle.

general revo discussion - Mr. Tune - 02-13-2006

Mine does a little, but it doesn't bother me. I simply set my epa so that the carb opens 100%, even if it requires a little bend in the linkage.

Never gave me a problem.

Carb alignment adjustment relative to the linkages? Is it stock or something different? How strong is your return spring?

general revo discussion - Blown5.0 - 02-13-2006

Didn't touch anything except swapping out the servo mount, return spring is the stock one that came with the Revo. One thing I did notice is the return spring was positioned a tiny bit higher than the factory box so maybe that little extra tension is causing the flex.
