I need a new motor-- - Biodragen - 01-11-2006 Looks like this took a cruddy turn based on the posts. Anyway This is where I am at with motors---I know you guys mentioned a few and that NR-528 I would have jumped on . That is out of range for cost for me. So this is what I have looked into so far. SW 26 w\o pull start Type: 2-stroke Displacement: .26 (4.26 cc) Bore: 18mm (.71 in) Stroke: 16.75mm (.66 in) Engine (Only) Weight: 16.2 oz RPM Range: 33,000 HP: 2.75 Cylinder Type: ABC Starting System: Pull Start Carb Type: Slide Crank Type: SG Picco 27 w\pull start CLAIMED HP 3.1 RPM 34,000 CARB TYPE SLIDE CRANK SG/Threaded CONSTRUCTION ABC ENGINE CASE SIZE .21 ENGINE BORE SIZE .27 TYPE REAR EXHAUST PORTS 8 ports DISPLACEMENT .27 c.i., 16.8 stroke CRANKSHAFT Heavy Duty Crankshaft 14mm CARBURETOR Composite, 8mm insert, changeable PLUG TYPE Standard Orion Wasp .28 • Horsepower: 2.85 • RPM (max): 42,800 • Carburetor: 2-Needle Slide • Crank: Standard SG • Engine bore size: 18.8mm • Exhaust: Rear • Stroke: 16.5mm • ABC piston/sleeve • Turbo design race ported crank • Knife-edge double bushing connecting rod • High performance 8mm aluminum slide carburetor • Skirted / double oil groove piston design • 3 transfer, 1 exhaust race spec porting configuration • 2-piece replaceable button style Turbo head • 6 bolt / 12 fin head configuration • Sleeve locating pin for precise port alignment Collari WRXLC30MT 3-port ABC constructed sleeve, coupled with the new "split-transfer" port case. The connecting rod has been strengthened to be able to handle the rigors of greater horsepower. It also has a fluted crankshaft and oversized pullstart one-way and shaft. 3.5HP 36,000RPM Collari WRXLC32MTR Out of the box the crankshaft features chamfered timing inlets and a fluted counter-balance. oversized cooling head and an 8.5mm aluminum carburetor that features a bullet-proof steel slide. Standard dogbone drive roto-start included. 3.65HP 36,000RPM Racers Edge Sure Fire .32 8-port Horsepower: 3.6 RPM: 38,000 Engine Size: .32 cubic inch (5.2cc) Sleeve: 8 port Bore: 19.5 mm Stroke: 17.5 mm Crank: SG Type Construction: ABC Weight: 450 g (w/pull start) Carburetor: 9 mm composite slide (with 8.5mm & 8 mm Carburetor reducers) Carburetor adjustments: 3 needle, easy flush setting Connecting rod: 7075 aluminum (Dual bushing) Exhaust Type: Rear Plug Type: Standard Starting: Pullstart included Right now I use the SW Rotostart an I would hope to use it ---I do not have a bump box nor do I care for the P\S set up. So what is the census based on what I looked into. I need a new motor-- - rocco79 - 01-11-2006 Id go with the 1st one you listed. The rest are not the best for racing, more basher motors. And i dont think the .32 is really even legal to race at a pro series event... I think RUN from the wasp 28!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need a new motor-- - thenewguy821 - 01-11-2006 I've heard quite a mix of reports on the Wasp .28, from Hard to Tune, Unreliable, doesn't hold a tune, to it being a great motor. The SW .26 is really a good motor for the money. I had 6 gallons through a Mach .26 which is the same motor, with a different carb, and was still running strong when I sold it. If you go with the SW, use the largest carb insert, you will deffinately notice the power increase. I need a new motor-- - Biodragen - 01-11-2006 Oh yeah I forgot about the inserts. The Mach 26 is that a Dynamite or a Assoc motor? I need a new motor-- - thenewguy821 - 01-11-2006 Mach .26 is a Dynamite. If you look at the Engine, it's exactly like the SW, without the removable inserts for the Carb. The carb has the same opening as the middle size SW insert. The SW .26, Dynamite Mach .26, SH .28 and XTM 24.7 are all made by the same company. I need a new motor-- - Tex - 01-11-2006 I would go with the first thing on the list also. |
