Have you seen the new track schedule? - Mr. Tune - 03-26-2006

If it were my business, I'd want to get paid too! If nitro will draw a larger turnout on saturday than electric, then guess what, I'd be running on saturday too. Keeping the place open and making money is more important than just a few racers. Majority will always rule, that's how things work in our economy, lol. I may slightly disagree in that there might not be enough racers now to make 3 heats in my classes, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. I give bernie 2 thumbs up!

nicely said tune! and i would also be attracted to saturday more because then i dont have a rush to get home after a sunday race to get homework done for monday. Props to bernie and crew

Hey that sounds great now for Sat and Sun.

Sunday stinks for me anyway. As things have been in the past with late nights I could not go. It is a 2plus hour drive for me.

Now with Saturday I can race and my daughter wants to hang with Dad at the track. She can't on sunday cuz of School night.
It can be an all day event for me.----yeah

I wonder if Saturday may be a smaller crowd, that would be nice.

Here's how I solved the issue of what days to race for the three of us. For racing we own:

3- on road electric sedans
3- tamiya mini coopers electric
3- on road nitro sedans
4- off road electric trucks and buggies
1- Savage
1- 1:8 scale Mayhem

It took me about a year and a half to get all the vehicles for the three of us. But now depending on what day we can race I grab the vehicles and gear for that day's type of racing.

Point being...we enjoy racing, and I didn't want what day it is to keep us from racing. So some Saturday's it's mini cooper racing, some sunday's it's on road.

The thing that usually gets in the way isn't Leisure's schedule, it's my personal schedule and family commitments.

I vote for having a microwave at the track so that I can microwave my cold pizza from the previous night's dinner when I don't have enough extra cash to buy some at the track. Big Grin

There is a microwave.... it's on the table closest to the hobby shop door entrance.

I'd still like to see a coffee pot, I'd bring my own but I'm not sure if Bernie would allow it.

Oops... I think that broke the negative statement rule.

Quote:Each week we get less and less electric and more nitro. now I hear I WAS going to start racing electric but you changed the schedule so I can't. If we had a good electric crowd on Saturday we would not had to change. Friday night racing at the place went real good so we will try again. Friday we can give the electric guys a fresh ,wet track to run on with better traction. something the electric guys complaind about Saturdays. And lets not forget we have closed the track two times to nitro for big electric races. I'm not hearing nitro complain. We want to have good racing for all. We just need to find a good schedule that works for all. thanks

Correct alot of the "electric" crowd was and is still racing a good amount of Touring cars. But that's winding down.

True I have not been to Leisure since it's reopened. TC season carpet season is winding down and many of the guys were thinking of running offroad. But most of the guys I know are from Chicago and further north. So making a trek to Leisure on a Friday is close to impossible.

I've considered selling my XXX4 to get a Nitro something but I usually don't like the nitro racing scene.

Either way I know that the ultimate decision is based on current turnouts and you can't beat the trend of latest MTs and 1/8th cars on the market. I think what Leisure and Bernie are doing with this new schedule is still good because it helps keep the doors open at one of the nicest facilities. And hey if it helps pay for the outdoor onroad track........I'm all for that! LOL Tongue

Bernie tell Darrin I need help with nitro engines Tongue

Kenji I like you solution LOL

I think I'm close but too loaded on the electric TC side.

Not worried about the Mayor...more worried about "The Boss" Tongue

Need to get permission slips signed. When are you heading out again to Leisure? Maybe I will try and meet you up there.

coop has his 8th grade Washington DC trip this weekend so I think Kole and I will take out the TC3's for Dekalb this Sunday.

Maybe next Friday we'll be going. You want to tag along with us? We leave the 16th District about 3pm and we're back usually by midnight or 1am depending on when the races are over. I keep a jug in the back of the van in case you gotta go. I hate making pit stops in Friday afternoon rush hour traffic. HA!
