jelousy not a factor at all.....

Roc has always been a good driver, he just masked it by racing a Savage. You guys are just realizing it NOW, as JB and I noticed it long ago......

I bought my LSP back when only JT had one around here (at the old track). I raced it for well over a year and did good with it, it was a good truck and very reliable, but I felt it was time to move up. So I bought the ST-R, it just so happen to be the FOM at that time Smile
The ST-R was my first "kit" and Im sure I'll be keeping it for a long time to come.
I feel I still have plenty of room to grow into the truck, being Im still trying new things/adjustments every race day.
So far It has been just as reliable as the LSP was, if not more, and I do feel like I can drive it faster due to the turning ability and how light it is.

Now I just bought the SP2 to go with my ST-R. Ive never raced or even driven a buggy before, but Im sure I can learn the car and grow into it like I have with every vehicle Ive bought in the past.

There will always be a FOM, ...because there are people out there that just have to have the newest, greatest thing on the market. There are also people out there that need to try different things to keep it interesting, and then there are those that need to upgrade for real, and just happen to buy the FOM Smile

Czech-it-Out Graphics Wrote:I think the guys that you see switching for the FOM everytime one comes out see slower lap times right away and thats why they are put up for sale so soon and people think they suck. Once you get accustomed to the driving style of one car something new is a big jump to accomidate for. You are much MUCH better off getting a buggy and sticking with it for awhile and actually LEARNING the car, play with the setup keep it well maintained etc. the better you know ur buggy the better u will be able to drive it.

AMEN! LEARN THE CAR PEOPLE!

A better quality car can improve some drivers driving ability but moving from one top quality car to another may make little or no difference. In fact if the driver is marginal or does not understand chassis dynamics the change of cars will throw them off and they will drive worse with the new car.

I found this out a few years back. I was tuning my buddies Losi Stadium Truck because I can out-tune him by a large margin. He was kicking a$$ on many of the buggies running the same track and smoked virtually all of the trucks at the race. getting to know a car/truck is huge. The more time "behind he wheel" and experimenting with tune the better. I've beaten REVO owners with a mostly stock e-maxx (not brushless either).

I'm not the best driver out there but I can tune a chassis and I know my stuff. That combination can beat many others. So those that can afford the FOM, great! But most of us can't afford to throw money all over like that so we'll be content to out drive and out tune! Big Grin

I think by now Rocco has improved more than his crew, so your not all on the same level anymore. Smile

Rocco, it works for you because you havent tried anything else. I see a mugen buggy in your future to go along with the truggy. .......now i see a Mugen buggy and truggy in the whole DD Blood Brothers crew too. Wink

Tex Wrote:BTW, again......you kicked ass with that buggy at RCPS round 4 and drove it like a champ. IMO you looked like the A main guys at a regular LH's club race

HAGASAN Wrote:Rocco gets the most improved for 06 in my book. Im not just saying that because of rnd4 either. He is an amain guy at a regular club race at LH tho. Im not.
