Gel cell battery question - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-11-2007 Thanks Roc, I'll keep trying as it breaks in....until then I'll have to fix my PS Gel cell battery question - Ponch - 01-11-2007 Def. Heat it up with at least a hair dryer if not a heat gun. Crack the glow plug 1/4 turn too, make sure to re-tighten it after the motor fires. Gel cell battery question - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-11-2007 At room temp (70'ish) with the glow plug in AT ALL, even very loose, it won't pop over with the box. And it's not flooded. I'll keep working at it. Thanks for the all the guidance on this stupid noob subject guys. I'm just too lazy and attached to my ez-start Revo I guess, but it's time to change it around. Gel cell battery question - snakebite46 - 01-11-2007 Stupid question, do you have the packs wired in series or parallel? Gel cell battery question - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-11-2007 The box had a factory installed Tamiya plug harness, and I believe it to be a series connection. Gel cell battery question - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-11-2007 I'm gonna hook this box up to my car battery next....12volt 550 amps.... Gel cell battery question - mikeh - 01-11-2007 Wow, thats one tight motor. My box is the Ofna chrome top and it has a very large single motor the size of a soda can. I am guessing its more powerful than the twin 550 settup? On another thought. When I first set up my box to fit the TTR, I could not get it to turn over. After A LOT of frustration, I discovered that the wheel was, just barely, contacting the chassis plate and the edge of the flywheel opening. The TTR slot for the flywheel is not large. After readjusting it, it turned over like a clock ever since. Gel cell battery question - mikeh - 01-11-2007 Also, I found that the easiest way for me to line up the flywheel with the starter box wheel, was to just take the dang motor out and line it up looking right down at it. I just could not get it right until that. Gel cell battery question - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-11-2007 Yeah that single motor is a 775, I think, or at least I've seen one listed that way. I was able to line up the box and the engine and turn the motor over with the glow plug out just fine, but with the plug in ther, it just grunts back at me. And the darn broken PS didn't just break the cord, it broke the coil spring end off...so.....POS. Gel cell battery question - maxximum_44 - 01-11-2007 Dave are you heating her up? Gel cell battery question - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-11-2007 That's a rather personal question, but, yes, as often as I can..... Seriously, no...that's my next test, Maxx. Gel cell battery question - mikeh - 01-11-2007 That is still strange. Are you sure that the wheel is not rubbing the edge of the chassis? Even the slightest rub will interfere with starting. I dont know, I am at a loss with this one. Gel cell battery question - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-11-2007 The engine is out right now for the PS fix, so I can triple check the alignment easily, as you did. Now is the time to do it. Gel cell battery question - Tex - 01-11-2007 another way to line up a starter box with a car is to take the top of the starter box off the box, flip the car over on the workbench and lay the top on the chassis....set the pegs there and your done Gel cell battery question - mikeh - 01-11-2007 Wow. The simplest solution I have ever heard! Gel cell battery question - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-11-2007 I'll make sure to mark on the lid which way the wheel turns so I don't do it all backwards and have to rework it. |
