closing threads? - Biodragen - 07-14-2006 Rocco I replied and I hope it is clear as to my meaning and intent. No need to close this thread---actually it is bringing up some good point but sadly the negative ones tag along. I am finding this thread entertaining, some what objective and informative really. I read some of the posts and it makes me think a bit. closing threads? - Tex - 07-14-2006 True this is a hobby where we all race $1000 toy cars but it's not a just a hobby to Bernie. It's his career and he pours his heart and soul into it. Imagine someone shooting down (or even has one slightly bad comment) about something you pour your heart and soul into? It would hurt. It hurts even more when you (ex: Bernie) come on a forum and see that comment made public. I don't want to go off topic about closing threads but I completely see where Bernie is coming from and how he could have a slight attitude towards the situation (He knows what he's doing, has plans, and a goal). I say we just sit back, wait, and let him work his magic over time. About closing threads, I think they get closed when they need to be. We don't close threads that often, like 20 out of 4,000 to be specific. John Dimo (the owner) picked the mods out of a crowd because he trusts their judgement. If we (mods) close a thread, then there was a reason, we are not Nazi's. Although there was a time about a year ago when I was going all Nazi on everyone trying to get a point across because the board was out of hand. Everyone stepped up and it went back to normal. You may also see me treat different members in a different way. This is because some members are still Kids (under 18). I may tell a kid to switch his avatar or quit cussing, then the next post an adult may say a cuss and not have anything said to them. I do that because I care how our kids are being raised and I don't promote underage cussing or sexy type avatars being used by kids. I care to much to let that happen on a board I help moderate. Maybe it's because I have a 12 year old daughter? not sure.... It definitely is not because I like people less or more than others, I'm an equal opportunity moderator...lol closing threads? - rocco79 - 07-14-2006 Brian- PM sent. |
