slash spec - hotrodlincoln - 12-02-2008 is there any specific reasons that you can't run side by side packs i have two gp3300 packs side by side config i was gonna run. slash spec - BJoe - 12-03-2008 It's their rules for that class, it's ment to help keep cost down by using lower priced stick packs and help keep everybody on a somewhat even field. slash spec - Tex - 12-03-2008 I would suspect that GP3300 side by sides may have a little more punch than the cheap packs everyone has to run...it would become an unfair advantage and everyone else would feel like they needed better batteries. slash spec - chicagokenji - 12-03-2008 Probably not. The motor in the Slash is a 550 sized 12 turn motor, not a 27 turn stock 540 sized motor with bushings. slash spec - rocco79 - 12-03-2008 Im not sure what you mean kenji. Im a noob to elec. Care to elaborate? Im curious. slash spec - chicagokenji - 12-04-2008 Take an older 3300mah 6 cell matched pack. Take one of the six cell packs Leisure sells at the shop at the track. Do some laps laps with both. ACtually driving the Slash you won't notice any difference, especially in lap times between the two battery packs. The reason being is that the Slash's stock motor is essentially a cheap modfied motor and mod motors torque is not so much affected by the performance of a 3300mah older pack and a 3800 stick pack. Hmmm....maybe another way: If you had a Savage with it's stock .21 engine and you tried a tank of 20% versus a tank of 30% I highly doubt in a race that your lap times would be any different in a race. slash spec - bubbacola - 12-04-2008 A matched pack of battery are better then unmatch ones. You can pick out the guys who are using matched pack because they are faster. Stick packs are sealed in a wrapper. A side by side would be ez to pull off the matching label and say they are not matched. slash spec - hotrodlincoln - 12-08-2008 first off my packs arent matched. second i've been hearing that guys that have capable chargers are charging the leisure hour shop packs at like 10 amps to get crazy punch out of them. How is that fair. i have a 130.00 dollar super brain that only charges at 5 amps. so the guys that have enough cash to buy new packs every week or two and a charger that can pound a 10 amp charge into the pack are the ones winning. not the 13 year old that is trying his heart out to win and can't figure out why he can't come close to winning in a spec class against the guy with the awesome charger and the cash to replace cooked packs. i'm all for everyone being equall that's what brings it to a drivers race. Me and two of my friends both have slashes and we're leaving them stock to be able to be equal even when we are just bashing. alute: slash spec - dentguy92 - 12-08-2008 last time i raced at LH. I was leading the A main with a LH pack charger at 5 amps. It is not about who has the best pack, it is about driving clean and staying in the groove slash spec - bubbacola - 12-08-2008 I charge at 6.5 and peak at 7. slash spec - hotrodlincoln - 12-08-2008 ok well i don't want to start any crap i'm just relaying what i've heard from the couple guys that come into the schererville hobbytown where i work and thats what i've been hearing. me and a couple friends will probably be out racing with you guys after christmas i'm super anxious to come out cuz i love these trucks and want to do some competitve racing slash spec - Tex - 12-08-2008 In my Traxxas Stampede that I used to have, an unmatched 3300GP pack was WAY more power than a Venom 3300 pack. Hands Down!! slash spec - hotrodlincoln - 12-09-2008 yeah but i have heard very few good things about venom. no offense slash spec - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 12-09-2008 since when does more power win races? slash spec - Michowski - 12-09-2008 When people who know how to drive with more power come into play. slash spec - slaytanic - 12-09-2008 Czech-it-Out Graphics Wrote:since when does more power win races? Dude say that again in cool Star Trek voice! slash spec - Tex - 12-11-2008 Czech, more power in a slash would win races if your a decent driver. hotrodlincoln, I said Venom sucks!! slash spec - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 12-12-2008 how you'll never be able to LTPD with those shitty tires slash spec - Evil3 - 12-12-2008 Tex Wrote:Czech, more power in a slash would win races if your a decent driver. No, only a tic more power will help win races if you have that tiny bit more speed on the stright. But the only way that helps is if the track has a lot of grip. But yes it can help if you can drive really good, other wise it will make you slower. slash spec - slaytanic - 12-13-2008 The tires are actually perfect for what they were meant for. I love a little tap on the brakes then back on power. It will turn on a dime. But if your slipper isn't set you will just spin out. slash spec - rocco79 - 12-14-2008 you use the brakes?!!? slash spec - slaytanic - 12-14-2008 Here and there a little tap of the breaks brings the rear around and you can turn on a dime. I was turning 24 second laps which is only 2 seconds less than average buggy times. slash spec - cheesecake - 12-15-2008 hey slaytanic wake up..................................................... ypou mean you were running those with your 1/8 buggy you slash time was in the 40's slash spec - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 12-15-2008 lmfao slash spec - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 12-15-2008 And I drove chad's slash on friday, it was just about as much fun as i thought it would be....lol |
