For every post, on the bottom left you'll see this icon

for the light skin users. If you think it was a very informative or great post, click on it and you can give that users positive reputation. If you hated what they have to say, negative rep is also a choice.Think of reputation as a reward points.

Where are guys seeing the reputation points ? If I scroll my pointer over my green dot is just says I'm on a distinguished road.

on the top menu bar that is the user cp icon, click there and in the mid left you will see your rep points.

reputations are for forums that are bigger than this IMO. Everyone in this forum knows each other (for the most part)
