T-Maxx Help - Traxxas_Junkee - 10-15-2005

Hey guys I just trashed up my rustler to where its not worth salvaging, and I have a tmaxx that had a blown motor so I put the rustler motor in there and when im driving and i let off the gas, it sounds like the clutch is still engaged, some people said that it was because the low speed or idle was to high, i lowered those and still nothing, does anyone know what is wrong? Do you think it could be the clutch shoes? I have some newer ones but I haven't put them on yet.

Please Help,

By "clutch engaged" do you mean reving up?? If thats the case you might have an air leak.

Air leak where?

anywhere. fuel lines, tank, carb, header, ect.

i dont understand how a leak would have anything to do with the motor idling to high or whatever
please explain

T-Maxx Help - FreeRideFrosty - 10-16-2005

If there is an air leak it would cause the motor to run lean... therefore revving up a bit.

T-Maxx Help - Obsessive R/C - 10-16-2005

exactly...

T-Maxx Help - Traxxas_Junkee - 10-16-2005

ok i replaces the fuel lines, and took out my filter
still does it, but it only does it when the wheels r moving, if i push it down a hill the motor revvs high, or if i kick it with my foot it revs high, so thats y i dont think it is a leak.

T-Maxx Help - Tex - 10-16-2005

weird????? I would take a look at the clutch shoes and spring, it may be hanging up.

T-Maxx Help - FreeRideFrosty - 10-16-2005

Could you possible have a bent throttle linkage?? It would seem as only if you were moving because it may not be returning all the way to idle after you accellerate or brake...??

T-Maxx Help - Traxxas_Junkee - 10-16-2005

yeah thats fine, cuz if the truck is at a complete stand still and the motor is idling fine, i can push it down a hill without touching the throttle at all, and the motor will start to rev high. i think im going to put my dads whole motor and clutch bell and everything inthere tomorrow and see if it still does it.

is all the zip ties on your blue exhaust header on there because i had the same problem and there was an air leak so when i would go to slow down it would rev up and then idle.
