new engine - JOE - 12-19-2005 Just wanted to get some insight, i am almost done with my revo and i have a tnt modded sirio .18 on the way but eventually i want to buy a new engine and have it modded, for race use. I have a 1 inch extended chassis, a center diff gtr shocks 50wt oil, p2s all around, with trax alum push rod and alum ti rods, narrowed wabash rims with panther pythons, that is a basic list anyways i was told the os .18tm would be the best choice for racing because the sirio .23 would make the truck wheely to much but i think the the chassis and the center diff the truck could handle the extra power. any suggestions are welcome. new engine - JOE - 12-19-2005 heres some ics of what i got so far new engine - t to the maxx2 - 12-19-2005 I like the picco 21 power, but the tmaxx isnt powerful enough to take it without extensive mods. new engine - JOE - 12-19-2005 do they make one that fits the revo? new engine - Tex - 12-20-2005 I'd just stick to a 18TM, reliable and doesn't grenade drivetrain parts like the more powerfull motors. I'm thinking about going smallblock again, I blow way to much drivetrain new engine - JOE - 12-20-2005 thanks for the advice i think i will eventually get an os .18tm new engine - Sh1nn3r - 12-20-2005 Ya I would stick with the os 18 tm also. new engine - Michowski - 12-20-2005 everyone knows how fast my .18tm is and how i feel about that motor. new engine - Sh1nn3r - 12-20-2005 Ryan's truck has WINGS !!!! flys!! new engine - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 12-20-2005 He runs it on a blend of 30% Maxy's and Red Bull. new engine - Sh1nn3r - 12-20-2005 You mean steroids. new engine - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 12-20-2005 And you mean the truck, not the driver.....right? new engine - Sh1nn3r - 12-20-2005 Ya the truck totally, driver is mediocre at best. j/k ry new engine - JOE - 12-20-2005 lol, is your motor modded Ryan? new engine - JOE - 12-20-2005 im curious to see how strong my sirio .18 wil be when i get it back from tnt? new engine - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 12-20-2005 Joe, I think Mich has said No about his motor having been modded. We are saving for an OS TM at our house. I guess it is critical to install a spacer on the piston wrist pin to keep the conn rod off the backplate. Search around here for the details and where to get the spacer (and extra clips for the pin). new engine - Sh1nn3r - 12-20-2005 I think rdracingproducts.com has them in stock you might want to check it out. new engine - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 12-20-2005 http://www.rdracingproducts.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=94&osCsid=3777a948274938620524e0702333b91b new engine - JOE - 12-20-2005 yeah i saw them there before but i wasnt sure why they were needed guess now i know, just letting you guys know that sometime next year im going to come to chicago and race with you guys new engine - Tex - 12-20-2005 can't wait for you to come out and join us man! thad be awesome! new engine - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 12-20-2005 Maybe you said before, Joe, but are you from the midwest? new engine - JOE - 12-20-2005 no im from pa, i didnt want to mention it though becuase i like talking to you guys and some people might not talk to me after the pitt vs. chi game new engine - Tex - 12-20-2005 LOL....that's funny new engine - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 12-20-2005 We'll talk to you, just check the answers we give before you spend any money..... new engine - JOE - 12-20-2005 man thats messed up, lol good thing you already sent it dave, or at least you said you sent it. you did send it didn't ya???? lol |
