CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-23-2005 I read that some people use CA glue to keep the pin from falling out. Is this important to do/should I do it. Also should I put grease in the boots. I got the hot bodies. Also how far does the end of the boot go on the CVD? Like to the end of the actualy cvd/where it meets the axle? If you have a picture that would be great. Thanks PS: Snakebit46, thanks for the cvds again. CVD Question - FreeRideFrosty - 12-23-2005 Just loc tite it. I would say to do it. I had mine slide out on myStorm and it is a PITA to take it apart and have to fix it if you would have just loc-tited it in the first place... CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-23-2005 Ok thanks. I just edited the post the same time you posted. If you have a question to that also that would be great and if anyone else has something to add. CVD Question - FreeRideFrosty - 12-23-2005 Hmmm... I don't know about that though... CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-23-2005 Ok. Thanks anyways. CVD Question - MX_KEVIN - 12-23-2005 Id stay away from greese. Just makes the boots slide off. Keep them clean and a drop of oil should be fine. CVD Question - RobH - 12-23-2005 DrDex from UE made this for me when I bought his UE 8mm steel CVDs... it should apply to other cvds also. How about the smaller end of the bootie, glue that too? CVD Question - RobH - 12-23-2005 r0nd3L Wrote:How about the smaller end of the bootie, glue that too? no. CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-23-2005 Ok thanks a lot Rob. Wish I could go Monday. PS: I am getting the MO probably Monday for the diffs. Now I need to find someone who is selling their cases. CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-24-2005 Is this as far as the boot goes on? CVD Question - RobH - 12-24-2005 looking at the picture, it seems that you can't lube MIP CVDs the way you can do with UE cvds. CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-24-2005 Ok. I see what you mean. These will do for now or until they break. Then its off to UE. CVD Question - RobH - 12-24-2005 UE-Maxx Wrote:Ok. I see what you mean. These will do for now or until they break. Then its off to UE. unless you over extend the suspension, I doubt they will "break"... might wear out after a while (like over 5 gallons). CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-24-2005 Oh. Then if I don't have a problem with them, they are staying with me. LOL I don't know how many gallons snakebite46 had on them. Should I just spray them with the silicone everyone once and a while? CVD Question - r0nd3L - 12-24-2005 I put the boots the other way on MIPs. Of course, they squish down when inserted into hub but work fine. I didn't fill them with grease though, just lubed a little. CVD Question - Tex - 12-27-2005 those CVDs should last you a long time! CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-27-2005 I just picked up some silicone spray. I put the puts on the way you said to rondel. I'll see how it goes when I get my truck together. BTW: don't want to start a new thread, but are there any hobby shops that carry tony screw kits? CVD Question - RobH - 12-27-2005 UE-Maxx Wrote:but are there any hobby shops that carry tony screw kits? You might be able to get a hobby shop like leisure hours, or Als to order them for you, but then your probably better off ordering them yourself. CVD Question - UE-Maxx - 12-27-2005 Ok thanks. I tried my LHS and HT in orland and they don't have any. Probably end up ordering it today. Rob, do you know what kind of pullstart I need to order for the cv-rx. There is like 6-7 different types. |
