Glow starter charging??? - Biodragen - 01-09-2006 Okay I have 3 glow starters and what the cruddy part is this. I have to take the batteries out of two of them, Solder a connection to them and charge them with my trickle charger. The third one came with a charger pack in an RTR set up. This takes too long of a process and doing the wall charger would take me 3 days to do all of them. Does anyone know of where I can get just that end to go into the glow starter? Then I can put aligator clips on the other end of it. I would hate to clip this off and retro something to make it work in my applications. Glow starter charging??? - RCDad - 01-09-2006 I just use the wall charger. I have thought about rigging something so I can charge them with my MRC 969. Glow starter charging??? - thenewguy821 - 01-09-2006 If you don't plan on using the Wall Glow charger, you could cut the end off of that. Just make sure to check polarity before you hook it up. I know some people have done that with good results. Glow starter charging??? - Mr. Tune - 01-09-2006 I use a wall charger for my ignitor. Plug it up the night before and it'll have a nice full charge for race day . Plus, I can charge it in between heats without worrying about sucking up the charger I use for my rx and tx batteries. Glow starter charging??? - RCDad - 01-09-2006 One of my starter boxes has a plug in for a glow ignitor. I should get one that plugs into it. Glow starter charging??? - Biodragen - 01-09-2006 Well that is also another reason I did not want to cut up my wall charger but if I did I suppose I could rig it up for both uses and save my money. Thanks for the link but I was actually looking just for the connector end of it. Glow starter charging??? - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-09-2006 https://www.ssl-stormerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/seekpart.pl?src=ns&pn=OFN92572 I have one of these, that can also be connected to a 1.5v "lantern" style hobby battery. One battery has been lasting a year so far. Glow starter charging??? - RCDad - 01-09-2006 That's exactly what I have, the Ofna starter box with a power panel. Glow starter charging??? - Tex - 01-09-2006 you only need one glow igniter for a full race weekend. Unless you are the type to leave the glow igniter on the plug for no reason (without the motor started) or your motors are hard to start. If your motors fire up decently easy withing the first 10 secs then you only need one fully charged igniter for a race day (and it would actually last 2-3 race days) Glow starter charging??? - UE-Maxx - 01-09-2006 I have two glow batteries and only one charger. I plan on charging my back up battery two nights before a race, and the one I plan on using the night before the race. Glow starter charging??? - Ponch - 01-09-2006 Hey, if I were to snip the plug offa my wall charger, what settings would I charge it at? It's a 3000nimh cell...Like peak mv/cell, amps etc... Glow starter charging??? - mikeh - 01-09-2006 I just ended up getting a Glow Be charger. Like the fast charger above. Plugs into my car battery or my DC converter and fills up in about 20 minutes. |
