I just PMed him about the wing... lol Let Dave have it Scott, ignore my PM. I have the GS mount for now. F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-13-2006 If it's a tie we can flip a coin..... F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - thenewguy821 - 01-13-2006 It's all good. I'm running the GS wing mount for now. The Mugen looks a little more durable. I can get one another time. Also, when you buy a wing, BEFORE you run with it on the truck, put it in a pot of boiling water for 10-15 minutes. It softens the wing a little, making it more flexable. Less chance of it breaking on a bad landing. F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-13-2006 Thanks and thanks....I have been watching - bidding wing mounts on ebay and it's stupid how much people run those up to. I know I could go to the store and buy one but I never have the time to get there (long winded excuse). Thanks for the boiling tip. F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - Blown5.0 - 01-13-2006 OK, wing mount goes to Dave. F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - Tex - 01-13-2006 does the wing mount include the wing mount stay and the mount braces? Meaning it ready for a wing to be installed? F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - Blown5.0 - 01-13-2006 Yep, just needs a wing. From what I remember reading, there are 2 screws that need to be replaced with longer ones to properly fit on a Revo. I'm sure most people who use this wing mount on a Revo will know what screws I'm talking about. F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - FreeRideFrosty - 01-14-2006 Too bad I was at work... I would have snatched taht up as I BADLY need a wing. (ask Matt he has seen my bodies). I have heard lately that the mugen mount is the way to go. I think new it is over $20... F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - thenewguy821 - 01-14-2006 I think at Leisure Hours it was $12 for the mount, and $10 for the wing. Overall, you would only save a couple dollars.. F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - Tex - 01-14-2006 new is around $16 for the mount, stays...then the wing is around $10 pushing the cost +tax up towards $30 F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - destroy_my_revo_15 - 01-14-2006 yea i think im going mugen. i hate that extra weight of the custom wing mount that i made. its nice that i made it and all but its too heavy F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - FreeRideFrosty - 01-14-2006 Would I be wise to tri to get one on before the race or would I be better off with the weight savings??? Especially since I would not know whow to drive/tune the suspension with the new balance point... F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - Tex - 01-14-2006 it's not that big of a deal man...at all. it doesn't way that much, you wouldn't notice the weight difference and you wouldn't have to re-do your setup F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - FreeRideFrosty - 01-14-2006 Eh screw it then... I can destroy another body. saves me the headache of going to the shop and all before the race tomorrow. I will run as I am and get one when I get my new body. That way I can just set it up nice once... F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - Tex - 01-14-2006 good plan... F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - thenewguy821 - 01-14-2006 The wing really doesn't do anything to the weight or balance, so your setups would be fine. It mostly helps save the body. It may be me, but it also seems to help level the truck off the jumps. Maybe I was just taking the jumps better... lol F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - Blown5.0 - 01-14-2006 Mugen wing mount has been sold to Dave. Thanks! F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-14-2006 No, thank you!! Nice meeting you today! F/S Revo body, MBX5 wing mount & XS3 - FreeRideFrosty - 01-15-2006 I could have used that today... enjoy it. My body is currently held together with about 7 zip tie stiches. I think it is time to quit talking about it and have mike actually paint a body that I will get a wing to keep nice and neat... now for the money... |
