4.6 engine in Savage 25 - matt03gls - 01-25-2006 I have a guy that can get me a new Savage 4.6 engine for cheap. I assume this would drop into my Savage 25? Would there be a big improvement in power? I am worried that my Savage 25 drivetrain will not handle the extra power. Thanks 4.6 engine in Savage 25 - Sh1nn3r - 01-25-2006 Hey do you have a savage? Do you need any extra differential spider gear mods? New in package 4 sale. 4.6 engine in Savage 25 - matt03gls - 01-25-2006 I already have them, just need to put them in. Thanks though 4.6 engine in Savage 25 - thenewguy821 - 01-25-2006 The .28 would have a lot more bottom end. It would be more brutal on the Drivetrain. The GOOD news, is the Savage drivetrain only has a couple weak spots. I would suggest getting the Heavy Duty Drive cups Front and rear (The stock engine will round out the standard ones), The Heavy Duty Driveshafts, and be sure to do the 4 spider mod to the diffs. If Shinner isn't asking too much, a Back-up set of diffs may not be a bad idea. The diffs will still wear with the 4 spider mod, and having a backup set could save you a trip to the hobby shop. 4.6 engine in Savage 25 - matt03gls - 01-25-2006 How difficult is it to do the spider mod? 4.6 engine in Savage 25 - rocco79 - 01-25-2006 Its as simple as pulling the diffs... which is a chore, but its worth the durability. Get the .28 you'll love it 4.6 engine in Savage 25 - Sh1nn3r - 01-25-2006 I have a set new in package if anyone needs it. Also have a butt load of diff gears for the savage. 4.6 engine in Savage 25 - rocco79 - 01-25-2006 Wanna give them to me ??? :joy: . You could call it a donation and deduct it off your taxes! 4.6 engine in Savage 25 - BottledBeast - 01-26-2006  thats a good one |
