General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 01-28-2006 I'm starting this thread for all the electric Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies. I know we have a few on this board besides me. Here we discuss everything stadium truck or buggy. With that said, I just finished my Team Associated RC10T4 Team Truck(2nd one sold the other for some extra xmas money) and going for a test drive tomorrow. I didn't get the Factory Team kit because Al's just sold the last one the day before, and I couldn't wait. They only real difference between the Team Kit and the FT kit is a few blue parts, threaded shock and titainum turnbuckles. I add those later. But I have one FT part on my truck 4-40 shocknuts. But I'm running a Spektrum Radio system, Novak XRS ESC, Reedy Spec 19 Motor, Intellect 3800's, and gearing at 87Spur/19Pinion. Yeah I tried those internal graphics and it said it was red/silver and black. But turns out to be flouresent pink, oh well doesn't look too bad I think. As far as chassis set-up : Suspension: Frontilver springs with 30wgt oil. Rear: Green springs 35wgt. And have the -1* camber all round. I'm going to Leisure Hour on Tuesday for electric practice to see the new track, and try to get ready so I can race the followinf Saturday. I'm new to racing stadium trucks, I was just a basher before, time to expand my horizons Here are a few pics my T4 General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 01-28-2006 Were you at Al's maybe a week and a half ago with spektrum problems?? That thing looks really familiar... (And very nice) General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 01-28-2006 Well I was at Al's a week and half ago, but I was purchasing the Kit and the Spektrum I'n not hard to spot either, I kinda short dark haired, glasses, and stocky. Probaly was wearing a yellow and blue jacket too. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 01-29-2006 I have to say the XRS speed control was pain to set-up. One-touch my .....nevermind. I finally got it setup but it took forever. It just wouldn't take the programing. I should just pull it and go get a real Novak esc. All well. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 01-30-2006 Looks like I the only stadium truck owner :bustingup Well I guess I talk to meyself them . I just had Al's arder me some parts for my truck, Factory Team Turnbuckles and Blue Aluminum Front hinge pin brace(actually Trinity its cheaper). I just have a feeling that I will breaking some a-arms a few times until I get used to the track at LHR, which hopefully I;ll get out to on 31st. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - Traxxas_Junkee - 01-30-2006 Racin' Ranger has an RC10GT, but he hasnt been on in a while. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - FreeRideFrosty - 01-30-2006 bandit Wrote:Well I was at Al's a week and half ago, but I was purchasing the Kit and the Spektrum I just know that there was someone in there with what looks to be the same setup that was having problems with their spektrum... General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - PoPRC - 01-31-2006 I have a RC10GT too. I'll be out at LHR on Wed. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - Mammoth Mann - 02-02-2006 I have an older Nitro Hawk, with the traxxas .15 pro and its pretty (old) but stock is it possible to run with the 10th scale class? I'm not lookin for points or anything just want to run the truck, any answer would be helpfull. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 02-03-2006 I imagine it wouldn't be a problem. I mean it is a 1/10th and has a legal motor. And from what I heard you run with other RTR drivers. that are running a .15. But don't quote me on that. In the offical Leisure Hour Thread, they have dicussed a lot of what is allowed. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 02-03-2006 Well on the stadium truck news, I sold my Jato roller, I needed the money. So I'm in the market for a Nitro Stadium Truck, I will most likely got with the Factory Team RC10GT. I have been doing a lot of research on 1/10th nitro trucks, and I narrowed it done to the FTRC10GT, XXXNT(Adm Drake), and the XTM X-Cellorator. But after further research the GT was the best overall. The XXTNT was very nice but for my first nitro stadium truck I don't like the idea of graphote a-arms(to easlier to break for a rookie). And the XTM part support is not that great., unless you get everything on-line, and I like going to AL's and Hobbytown. So the winng is the Factory Team RC10GT. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - spdrcr999 - 02-03-2006 I'm just getting back into the game after a 5-6 year layoff. I originally bought a use B3 and planned on getting back slowly by running stock buggy. Surprise...no class for it. So now I have pulled an old Traxxas truck off the shelf and ran through it to get it back in shape for now. It's actually a pretty nice truck for its age. So, I'm gonna practice with it for a bit and maybe race it once or twice until I can find myself a T4. I know that's the way it will go because I can't stand getting beat because of equipment shortcomings for too long. It's funny, I just wanted to get back into this slowly for something for my daughter and me to do and it looks like I'm diving in headfirst again. ugh ----> $$$$$$ General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - Tex - 02-03-2006 There is no other way except head first! good job! Slim has a B3 with a novak SS he will be running, I'm surprised he hasn't chimed in? General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 02-04-2006 Well looks likes I'm gonna to pick up a RC10GT RTR Plus next week, actually it's going to be a gift from my folks, for my 14 year aniversary of my heart transplant. I can't wait. I;m going to take out all the RTR radio equipment and but in my extra Spketrum receiver, and some hitec servos. Also thinking of adding a Crenszo Racing Brake System. But not sure on what fuel to run. The RTR come with a .15 engine that from what I hear is a easy engine to tune, so should be a a good learning experince. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - PoPRC - 02-04-2006 Get the Dave Crescenzi Brake. Its from what I have heard, excellent. Dave is a nice guy, good products and fast shipping. I am saving for one now, I need more stopping power. Hopefully it will help me not run into walls. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - slim - 02-04-2006 im here! i had alot of fun runnin the B3. I cant wait to get to a race. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 02-04-2006 I would love to run brushless in my T4, but would be sure how to gear it. I imagine I just start at 19T and work around that. Thats what I normally do when I change motors. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - Notochord - 02-05-2006 get the gtb it tells u what gearing works General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 02-16-2006 My parts came today for my T4. I just added some FT turnbuckles. So that one hop-up about 4 more to go. Not going to go to crazy this time, just wanted to be able to run stock and 19T. General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - Notochord - 02-17-2006 bandit have u gone to leisure hours?? o ya and do the turnbuckle upgrade help alot????? General 1/10 Stadium Truck and Offroad Buggies Thread - bandit - 02-20-2006 Nope have gotten out to LHR as off yet. But I add the turnbuckle because when I had my original RC10T(93) I was was bending and breaking the stock metal tunbuckles. I haven't really notice improvement in performace but they they look good for about a week and the blue starts to chip off. |
