Radio Glitch? - RCSavageFan - 10-20-2004 I have been running my truck in a construction site/office building near my house. Certain spots of the site, my throttle would go back and forth. Could it be the security system that causes that? I got my radio(JR XS3) from eBay last year. So, it was used. I want to know how to determine if it is a problem of the radio or it is interference coming from the building. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Radio Glitch? - thenewguy821 - 10-20-2004 If it is only happening in certain areas of the site, but nowhere else, I would guess there is interference coming from the site. To play it safe, DO NOT run your truck there, because whatever is causing your glitch could also be affected by your radio. Better safe than sorry... Radio Glitch? - John78 - 10-21-2004 Roc & I would bash in a construction spot in aurora. Then they built a big precast building and painted it brite white, ever since then if we get to close to the building our trucks would get interference. It could have been an alarm system, or the color of the building could have something to do with it too. Radio Glitch? - RCSavageFan - 10-21-2004 Thanks guys! John78, are you talking about the building that says "For Sale or Lease"? It is right by the new outlet mall? That's where I bash. I thought FM would give much better range and signal. I didn't know it would get interfered that bad! Radio Glitch? - thenewguy821 - 10-21-2004 For the most part, FM is a cleaner signal. Think of your car radio. The FM stations come in a little clearer than the AM stations, and are less sensitive to outside interference. In RC cars, the power output is nowhere near that of a radio station, so it is a little easier to interfere. Some construction sites and buildings may cause interference from radio signals "bouncing" off other objects, Alarm systems or other in use radio systems. Hopefully the release of the 2.4 Ghz modules will fix these problems. Radio Glitch? - Mr. Tune - 10-21-2004 rcsavagefan, I believe they used to bash by that huge white building off of bilter rd. The the first street north of the new mall. Right off of farnsworth. Is that where you go? Radio Glitch? - John78 - 10-21-2004 Yes the big white & blue building is where we have bashed. Do you still go there? Radio Glitch? - RCSavageFan - 10-21-2004 Yes, that is where I bash too! I just noticed that there is another building next to the construction site(north of it). It is completely empty. So, I bash over by the parking lot and the dirt ground over there. However, that is where i am getting a lot of glitches! When do you guys go over there usually? BTW, a Pepsi guy came over the other day to watch me drive my Savage. He told me that there is a paintball field in the woods. Did you guys know that? Or you guys built that? Radio Glitch? - John78 - 10-21-2004 we havent been there in a while. but we used to go there on a weekly basis. no I dont know anything about that field. which way is it from the white building? Radio Glitch? - RCSavageFan - 10-21-2004 North of the white buidling...it has quite a bit of weeds though. However, it is better than the construction site(it is extremely rough right now because of the heavy equipement driving across the field and it can really damage your truck!) Radio Glitch? - rocco79 - 11-06-2004 That used to be a good place to go but its too crappy there now. I realy didnt have a good time that last time i was there. Except for a small pile of sand that we were getting good air off of. Radio Glitch? - RCSavageFan - 11-06-2004 I know what you mean. But it is the closest place around where I live that I can bash with dirt. Do you know anywhere else around Aurora area that is fun to drive the truck? Radio Glitch? - rocco79 - 11-06-2004 Not really  I usually bash in St. Charles at work on lunch and break times. Theres a couple of guys with trucks so that were i test new stuff and bash. |
