better chassis braces??? Talk to maxxGS . That guy is a maxx guru!

t-maxx chassis flex - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-07-2006

yeah, thats what i was going to suggest, make sure all of your screws are tight, and maybe some aluminum chassis braces.

t-maxx chassis flex - kevinF - 02-07-2006

well some of the screws wont tighten real good because they are starting to strip out the trans case.

t-maxx chassis flex - rocco79 - 02-07-2006

Then get a new trans case!

t-maxx chassis flex - kevinF - 02-07-2006

yeah thats what I probably will do when I get some money.

You can get supermaxx lower braces. They are light weight, machined from 7075 aluminum, brace the chassis at multiple points, and dont connect to the tranny.

A couple weeks ago they were on sale for like $55, now they are back to the normal $70 price tag.

Thanks, Rocco.

Rob has good advise here. The UE chassis braces combined with the stock chassis will eliminate almost all of the chassis flex.

Now if you want to eliminate all the flex get the UE/Dace Predator chassis kit like I have and Rob has and I think UE-Maxx has also. Then you will never have to worry about chassis flex ever again.

I raced last season on the same spur gear. I put like 3 gallons on the same spur and it looks like new.

I 3rd anything from UE.. Their chassis are the absolue stiffest and best out there for the maxx. Years back when I was running the UE Big block Supermaxx chassis I had only three screws backed up with nuts holding my tranny in and that thing rarely ever striped spur gears.

UE braces or FLM Chassis with the 3 point braces for around $60-$70
I ran the FLM chassis with a .23 and never stipped a spur.

All FLM products are warrantied...break or bend them and they get replaced for $8-$10

Ever since I got the Predator chassis and braces I never stripped a spur gear either. Had close to two gallons on one then switched gearing. Now I have one gallon so far with the new one.

If you want the best buy Unlimited Engineeing know as Supermaxx. If you want garbage and like supporting someone who just copies others designs then buy FLM. All Max parts from FLM are a direct copy of Supermaxx. My opinion, don't waste your money on the Fast lane Machine products. POS IMO.

FLM :puke:

Remember everone, this is my opinion in which I'm entitled to. Confusedalute:

You are entitled to your opinion and I also agree that UE/ Supermaxx parts are the best $$ can buy...but FLM makes good quality, affordable options. Not everyone has the bank for UE parts. Just my $0.02

im having the same problem here with my trans case screws striping out..how much is a new trans case..

t-maxx chassis flex - Michowski - 02-11-2006

there like 12 dollars i believe. Just snug them tight and leave them alone. Or you can put nuts on 3 of the 4 corners.

t-maxx chassis flex - Traxxas_Junkee - 02-11-2006

bottled what motor are you running?

t-maxx chassis flex - Obsessive R/C - 02-11-2006

You can put threaded brass inserts into the plastic case you already have. That will solve your issues, and allow you to use Loctite on the screws.

im running a 2.5r with a fantom pipe...
