quick t-maxx carb question - mikecooper - 02-27-2006

I was wondering if it is bad for anything if I run the t-maxx with that like blue thing that goes over the spring on the carb off, or slightly off, because when it is on all the way, the carb won't close all the way, but with it just off a little(the end by the carb not on the grooved part) it will close all the way, I just want to make sure before running it like this, if this is bad or not.

I guess no one here knows, I guess I will just run it with it slightly off and hope for the best.

you need it. It prevents dirt and crud from binding up your slide. Get a new one and replace it asap.

+1 and if it wont close then put a rubberbabd on it. have the rubberband on the arm and have it attatch to the fuel nipple.

ok thanks, I am going to try the rubberband thing. I will let you know how it works.

carb closes fine now, but the fuel isn't going through the fuel line now, and I have no clue what to do Sad

quick t-maxx carb question - BottledBeast - 02-27-2006

my blue thing isnt on and it works fine....but im sure i will run into problems in the future

quick t-maxx carb question - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-27-2006

what do you mean? is it not priming right. heres how i prime my engine(it may not be the safest way but im still alive and have been doing this for a while now) i pull the line from the pipe and blow in it, causing pressure to the tank forcing the fuel to the carb. hope this helps

That or put your finger over the exhaust and tug the pullstarter a couple times.

Once I was testing my fuel tank for a leak and there was none but I went to take my mouth off the line and got a mouthful of fuel:puke: it had a tingling feeling....lol

I either blow through the line or put my finger over the stinger to prime it.

quick t-maxx carb question - mikecooper - 02-27-2006

I have tried covering the exhaust, tomorrow I will try blowing in the pipe end of the pressure thing.

I wonder if one of your fuel lines is bad?

didn't you say your truck doesn't stay running? hmmmm....

quick t-maxx carb question - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-27-2006

i like the pressure way because your not tugging on the engine without lube

I thought it was the fuel lines too, but I replaced them, and still no luck, which is why I said I am going to try blowing in the pipe end.

quick t-maxx carb question - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-27-2006

dont blow on the end of the pipe take the pressure line out... and dont do like dan and have 5 ft of fuel tubing lol hes a noob at heart

quick t-maxx carb question - BottledBeast - 02-27-2006

yes tex...well now it runs it was a tuning problem fixed it today..

quick t-maxx carb question - mikecooper - 02-27-2006

I meant I was going to take the line off the pipe and blow in that, just didn't feel like typing all that out.

No need to be an ass. Big Grin I didn't think of the pressure differences untill after I left... no one there said anything at the time. It it over and the fuel line is shorter and the motor is tuned beautifully...

Now this is supposed to be related to the T-Maxx carb only so lets keep it on topic...

quick t-maxx carb question - destroy_my_revo_15 - 02-28-2006

i wasnt trying to be one i was jk with ya and he did mention that he changed the fuel line and the first thing i thought of was that... he is pretty new to the hobby and i would like to help him not make the mistakes that some of us have made when we first started in r/c my bad if i offended anyone.

quick t-maxx carb question - mikecooper - 02-28-2006

I bought 2 feet of fuel line, and have at least a foot left, maybe a little more after changing the lines.
