Parts Boiling Time? - dentguy92 - 04-01-2006 just turn off the stove and let them cool down Parts Boiling Time? - Ponch - 04-01-2006 So...Once the 10 is up cut off heat, let sit in the pot till cool? Or get the pot to a boil, and cut off the heat and let them sit in it for 10? Parts Boiling Time? - dentguy92 - 04-01-2006 boil for ten then cut the heat Parts Boiling Time? - dentguy92 - 04-01-2006 don't let the parts sit on the bottom of the pan. they should float but watch them close Parts Boiling Time? - olds97_lss - 04-01-2006 Has anyone tested to see if this really works? Just curious... Parts Boiling Time? - FreeRideFrosty - 04-01-2006 Lots of people have. The parts get more flexible so tollerances aren't as good (not great for racing) but they take more abuse. It doesnt majke the parts that soft... It just takes away brittleness Parts Boiling Time? - Ponch - 04-01-2006 Yeah I just did it on the wing/stay and I can notice alot more flexableness in the wing...And a little more in the mount. Parts Boiling Time? - FreeRideFrosty - 04-01-2006 Yeah... I didn't mean that they would just bend... It's just that if people complain about plastics bending on certain RC's too much as is and how it creates slop... boiling would only make it worse. That is why so many people go graphite on 1/10 scales. It is brittle but very hard... there are pros and cons to everything. |
