1/8th scale tires - satoch - 04-13-2006

Hello guys, I'm looking to race my 1/8th scale a bit more this outdoor season and am looking for tire suggestions for the tracks we normally hit: LH, Rockpile, Glitchers, etc.

I've got a good set of Crimefighters so far. What else might be good? TIA...

Panther K2's is a general all around good tire. I like them better than my Cf's.

Ditto K2's in soft or med/soft.

the advantage blockpass in soft are awesome too for all the tracks around here.

a set of knuckles will always be useful and a set of the new proline step pins (or step ups I forgot the exact name lol)

i had the knuckles... they worked well and wore very well

anyone try mugshots? those LOOK like they would work on a fluffed outdoor track.

1/8th scale tires - joey - 04-15-2006

i asked about those and the thing is they would possibly make the buggy traction roll on a highh speed turns.

Tim coates and the Booker Brothers run them outdoors at the DD tracks... They seem to work reallllly well

I am pretty sure I have a set of those. Not sure what compound. I also have CF's.

Which one would last longer on cement for break-in?

1/8th scale tires - Tex - 04-15-2006

depends on the compounds, I would rather wear out the crimes though, the K2's are a better tire so keep those fresh. IMO

1/8th scale tires - UE-Maxx - 04-15-2006

Thanks

Bruce, one of the tires i was talking to you about today for summer use is the Treadz Jolly. it's good for tracks that get water, but i couldn't find it listed at a-main hobbies today.might be discontinued.

why would u run either on concrete put some chitty ass tires on u will never use again except to run in the street i got a few pair like that lol...they all say panther on the side for some reason tho Wink

1/8th scale tires - UE-Maxx - 04-16-2006

I don't have a crappy pair. That's why.

1/8th scale tires - Tex - 04-16-2006

Mike, that would have been the obvious first choice...lol
I figured he didn't have any other tires so I suggested what I would do in that situation.

When I had my MBX5 I ran Crimes most of the time, they are also an all around good tire for most outdoor tracks.
