I am a big fan of seriously expensive RC aircraft, and the Fox Valley Aero Club in St Charles hosts a few really cool events to watch.
July 14-16
Extreme Aerobatics Club Meet
July 20-23
Windy City Jets
The boys and I went to this last year and were blown away by the $25,000 F14's and other planes. 200 mph passes and real turbines. Too cool!
July 27-29
Festival of Giants
Missed this last year, but in previous years saw MASSIVE planes. Incredible flying and workmanship in building these monterous scale planes.
So, put down the toy trucks for a day and head to St Charles to see guys who put their hobby money 1000 feet above the ground and haul some serious butt for top speed! You might just get hooked!
