Got It - UE-Maxx - 04-21-2006 USPS brought me something today. Novarossi 21BF. I bought it off someone on the grid. He also gave me a rb air filter and what I think are panther stinger tires. I already put my Tony's Screws kit on the engine. I just need a pipe, clutch assembly, and starter box. My filter hits the top of the body. When I am putting the body on, it will keep the body from going on all the way and I need to push the body on. Is this with all 1/8 buggies? Anyone know what is wrong with the grids for sale thread? Got It - snakebite46 - 04-21-2006 The "for sale" section has been moved. Next time your on, look above the picture and you'll see the swapmeet link to the B/S/T section. Got It - squirrel - 04-21-2006 UE If I decide to get rid of my ofna chrome top you will be the first to know! I have to try to get rid of my buggy first so it may take a while. Other than that the motor looks really nice! Got It - UE-Maxx - 04-21-2006 Thanks. It should be done by the start of the outdoor season hopefully. snakebite46 Wrote:The "for sale" section has been moved. Got It - snakebite46 - 04-21-2006 Select "Enter a new item" in the drop down menu in the upper right hand side. Got It - Racin' Ranger1 - 04-22-2006 what exactly is "the grid" ? link to site? Got It - rusty savage - 04-22-2006 try using the ofna "s" bend air filter coupler. I had the same prob with my hyper and cut the crap out of my stock body try'n to get it right. the "s" bend is a lil soft and flimsy but im working on an insert to fix that. its not a huge issue but Id like it to be a lil more sturdy. Got It - UE-Maxx - 04-22-2006 racin' ranger, I sent you a PM. rusty, thanks. I am running to my LHS for some things and I will see if they have it. Got It - UE-Maxx - 04-22-2006 They didn't have the OFNA neck. I should break this in with 20% then switch to 30% right? Got It - Traxxas_Junkee - 04-22-2006 I was always told to break the motor in on what you were going to run in it. Got It - Tex - 04-22-2006 I would break it in on 30% personally. Nice motor BTW All your clutch stuff will be there like Tuesday or something. I got the cash today Got It - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 04-22-2006 its no big deal if the filter hits the body, if u do get the ofna S bend, make sure u use a spring to hold the filter to the back of the car, it is flimsy and I have had it swing forward and kill the motor. Got It - UE-Maxx - 04-22-2006 Sounds good. I was just asking because when I was at my LHS, they said to just break it in with what you are going to run. I thought that breaking it in with 30% wouldn't be good because it has such a low oil content. Thanks I will see how it goes with the filter. Thanks about the spring trick. Got It - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 04-22-2006 30% doesnt have a lower oil content... Got It - thenewguy821 - 04-22-2006 UE-Maxx Wrote:I thought that breaking it in with 30% wouldn't be good because it has such a low oil content. That's why you break an engine in a little rich. By running it a little on the rich side, you are giving the engine the extra oil it needs for break-in. Just break it in with whatever fuel you plan to use. I've been running 40% for the past 2 years and don't change fuels for break-in, and have never had a problem. (The only engine that did go bad on me, was partly due to a crack in the exhaust, making tuning difficult. Even then, there was quite a bit of runtime on that engine.) Got It - Tex - 04-23-2006 like Mike said, 30% doesn't have a lower oil content that 20%. Trinity Platinum has 8% oil whether it's 20% or 30% O'donnell's has 11%, and so on. Got It - UE-Maxx - 04-23-2006 Thanks for clearing that up. |
