AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Ponch - 05-04-2006 On the spektrum reciever? I got mine used and the antenna was pulled out!!! It looks like it might have gone on the top circuit board, between the 2 chrome patches??? Please help....I want to use this! AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - RobH - 05-04-2006 I'd send it in to be repaired, it'll take a while to get back though though. Soldering it has produced some bad effects for people, and it will void the warranty. Spektrum antennas are weak, i'm glad i have a backup. AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Ponch - 05-04-2006 Chit it voids the warranty? Well, I hope this works then! I already soldered it. Seems to work.... AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Ponch - 05-04-2006 Dam! It don't work after about 20-30 feet!!! What should I do? Unsolder and send in, leave it and explain and send in, or sell as is on ebay??? Or wait no the guy who I bought it from is going to get an earfull! AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - firesprink281 - 05-04-2006 it isnt just a soder on. i checked mine and its almost like a small coaxial there is an outer and an iner wire. you should see a little plug in where it goes. AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Michowski - 05-04-2006 Bill, the reciever is soldered on, the tx has that coax thing going on. AHHH! AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Traxxas_Junkee - 05-04-2006 A co-axel is a wire like you use for TV, a TV Cable. AHHH! Is it soldered or a plug? I'm still confused.mash: AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Michowski - 05-04-2006 read my original post. I edited it. AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Ponch - 05-04-2006 Thanks. Makes sense now. So I should just send it in and hope for the best? It's a good thing my b-day is in less than 15 days, I can use some bday money to pick up another reciever. AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Michowski - 05-04-2006 send it back AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Mr. Tune - 05-05-2006 Soldering a wire to a board is easy . AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Ponch - 05-05-2006 Mr. Tune Wrote:Soldering a wire to a board is easy . I know, that was the easy part. The range SUCKS NOW though, I put my truck with a phone (so I could hear if the servos were reacting) out back of my house and I was on the other phone, and I didn't make it 5 feet out my front door and I had no response from my truck. AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - RobH - 05-05-2006 thats the same problem other people who soldered it back to the board had. AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Michowski - 05-05-2006 not me AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - RobH - 05-05-2006 Michowski Wrote:not me Wanna solder mine? :p: AHHH! They couldn't get their trucks to answer the phone?mash: AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Mr. Tune - 05-05-2006 The shorted distance is prolly caused by shorting out the antenna wire to ground or something. There's not alot of room for error in there. A simple re-solder won't cut the mustard. The key is to have the ability to desolder and full remove the old ripped wire strands out. You should see a silver pad with a hole going through the board when finished. Then you stripped a little of the wire off, insert, and solder. A little flux remover cleanes off all the gunk and a shot of acrlic coating on all the boards protects against the elements. (Acrylic coating is not done standard). AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Ponch - 05-05-2006 So if I go back in there and clean everything out, and then stick a clean section of the antenna into the hole, and solder it might work? The guy I bought this from is being a jerk (not even offering to exchange or something similar, saying basically that I broke it when he stated that everything worked great and nothing was broken.) AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - Mr. Tune - 05-05-2006 Pretty much, although without the proper equipment, it's much harder than it sounds. It's cakewalk with desolder station. I'll fix it for ya if you want. Just send me the receiver with a prepaid return stamp/label. If you're interested, send me a pm. AHHH! Where's the antenna go @ ?!?!?!!?!? - BottledBeast - 05-07-2006 that sounds like a good idea....stuff like this is harder then it looks.... |
