Boa M/S Questions - Ponch - 05-19-2006 Ok I have a couple of q's; Are the stock foams fine to run? Do I have to cut down the bead or can I run it as tall as it is now? Thanks. Boa M/S Questions - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 05-19-2006 What wheel? On Velo's the tire doesn't fit tight to the wheel. This is to allow easier gluing, according to Panther. I emailed them and they verified it. Do not trim the bead. It will not fit the wheel right if you do. Stock foams are fine. Boa M/S Questions - Ponch - 05-19-2006 Yeah, they're on 23mm Velo's. Thanks for the info Dave. Boa M/S Questions - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 05-20-2006 There is at least one other thread on here about this glue channel detail. Search and ye shall find! Boa M/S Questions - Michowski - 05-22-2006 dont use panther foams. They suck and will break down in like a day or less. I heard tons of people at round 1 in the pro series also sharing recent stories of bogus panther foams. Get the RE foams and stuff them in there. Those foams are dialed and last gallons Boa M/S Questions - Ponch - 05-22-2006 Ok then Ryan. Better safe than sorry right? Boa M/S Questions - Biodragen - 05-24-2006 Give them a call and they will send you out new ones. Just tell them the foams broke down. Mine did in less than a half gal of fuel. I called and they are sending me new ones out today. Boa M/S Questions - snakebite46 - 05-24-2006 Old ones are grey New ones are white. Boa M/S Questions - Ponch - 05-24-2006 Ok then I have the new ones. I also bought some PL greys. Should I use those or the panther? I think the pl would be better but IDK. Boa M/S Questions - Ponch - 05-26-2006 Ok guys- I have a little question. The PL foams are about 1/4 to 1/2 inch wider than the Panther's. Should I cut them or just stuff them in? Boa M/S Questions - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 05-26-2006 stuff 'em in. Just be careful not to glue 'em to the wheels. Boa M/S Questions - Tex - 05-26-2006 I would use the panther foams myself, I've heard they work good if they are the "good" ones. They will last the life of the tire. Boa M/S Questions - Ponch - 05-26-2006 Final Awnser Gabe? My tire's life rests in your hands. LoL Yeah I still haven't glued 'em up (no reason to yet) so I am open to opinions. I just don't like how the PL's sit in there stuffed in. The tire is not nice and round, it's got like a divot down the centerline of it. I've tried massaging the foam but no real help.I was thinking (uh oh right?)- What if I took a strip of the PL foam and ran it around the center outside of the panther foam, to get a nice round carcass? J/w. Boa M/S Questions - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 05-26-2006 Did you tape them on the inside? Boa M/S Questions - Ponch - 05-26-2006 Nope no tape Dave...I don't do well with tape. I end up making the tires uneven and stiff. Boa M/S Questions - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 05-26-2006 hmmmm??? dunno about the low spot... did you ease the edges of the foams...trim just a little off the inside edge against the wheel? Boa M/S Questions - Michowski - 05-26-2006 get the racers edge and be done with it. Its the only foam il run from here on out. My last 3 panther tires all had the bad foams in them. The proline only last a gallon or 2 before they were gone. My RE still feel like new after a weekend at the pro series. Boa M/S Questions - Tex - 05-28-2006 Racers Edge do wear out over time it just take 3-5 gallons depending on the use. Boa M/S Questions - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 05-28-2006 stuff em in there, once u run they they will even out. On second thought get yourself a set of MT Bowties and ditch the boas lol Boa M/S Questions - Michowski - 05-28-2006 They last about the life of the tire so its a good match IMO. Boa M/S Questions - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 05-28-2006 god i love that avatar Boa M/S Questions - Michowski - 05-28-2006 Boa M/S Questions - Tex - 05-28-2006 your right mich, they will last the life of the tire in most cases, you can't go wrong with racers edge foams.....dialed |
