Anyone here good at painting/airbrushing bodies? - John78 - 02-24-2005 I'm ok at painting bodies. So far the best 2 color paint job that I have done was with spray cans and a flame mask. One of these days I'll have pics to post to show. Anyone here good at painting/airbrushing bodies? - SixVi6-Camaro - 02-24-2005 I'm pretty good. Most of my bodeis are now 4-6 color rattle can paint jobs with masks and all. http://home.comcast.net/~sixvi6-camaro/JTmaxx_08.jpg http://home.comcast.net/~sixvi6-camaro/JTmaxx_07.jpg Latley I've been coming with ideas to move away from the flames and into ghosting in lettering but latley I've not had the time/money to do much. http://home.comcast.net/~sixvi6-camaro/JTmaxx_12.jpg Anyone here good at painting/airbrushing bodies? - John78 - 02-25-2005 Has anyone had good luck with using liquid mask? If so, what did you do? I was talking with BigD and neither of us had anything good come out of trying to use this. Anyone here good at painting/airbrushing bodies? - NitroNoob - 02-25-2005 I have only ever painted 3 bodies for my Savage. All 3 were done with rattle cans. Was very tempted to get an airbrush but then it got cold and the whole RC thing was kinda put on the back burner. 1st Body: 2nd Body: Sorry, no pic of #2 was a standard Savage body in a solid metallic red. 3rd Body: Anyone here good at painting/airbrushing bodies? - SixVi6-Camaro - 02-26-2005 I've used liquid mask before. its a pain to use. You have to put down many.. many layers of it then trim and peel it to the design you want. it takes at least 4 layers of mask before its thick enough to work with. Usually just using masking tape or even better the "cut your own Mask" sheets are much.. much better. |
