I have a revo right now and im getting real sick of shit breaking every time I drive. I don't see buggys breaking...Much at all if ever. I think in the past 2 weekends I've mabye seen 2 or 3 that have broken in lets see 20 mains/quals. Kyosho like I've got can be good, but just about anything these days is competetive. Mabye pick up a turmoil, used without radio since you've already got one. opinions..... - RobH - 08-09-2006 Unless your me, you'll be replacing stuff just from it wearing out rather than breaking. opinions..... - joey - 08-09-2006 i think most any 8th scale is is the way to go there are so many to choose from right now my personal experience is the the revo is a money pit since i been racing 8th scale im spending about 75% less money on stupid stuff and the rest for fuel and tires. opinions..... - Ponch - 08-09-2006 +1, I've only had to buy tires, gas, and race fees lol. opinions..... - FreeRideFrosty - 08-09-2006 The only thing I ever broke on my buggy was the wing mount.... actually I just sheared the screws off in the wing mount. That was after countless jumps off of the big ramp at woodridge a while back. They are tanks. opinions..... - kevinF - 08-09-2006 ok well thanks guys...........I guess im gonig to sell my revo and buy a losi 8ight............should i part the revo or sell it all together? which will get me more $$$ opinions..... - Ponch - 08-09-2006 Part that beesh out!!! opinions..... - kevinF - 08-09-2006 have you senn how much stuff I have for it????? if i part it it will prolly be like 50-100 different parts. but w/e, will i make more money that way? opinions..... - RobH - 08-09-2006 traxxas thrasher Wrote:but w/e, will i make more money that way? Yes... IF everything sells. I estimate that I missed out on $200 to $300 by NOT parting out my supermaxx... but the frustration and cost of shipping things to a bunch of different people, and having stuff left over, etc, makes up for that difference. opinions..... - Tex - 08-09-2006 yes..... edit: beat me to the punch opinions..... - kevinF - 08-09-2006 ok well this is what i have.......RTR truck with wing, wing mount, 3 sets of springs, pushrods, shock boots, aluminum shock caps, 2 extra shocks, shock rod ends, p1 and p3 rockers, extra p2 rockers, 5-6 arms, stock silicone oil, center diff, rear brakes, FOC, reverse gears with the sensor and the small servo, bald bowties, stocke tires, bowtie MT's with 98% tread left (only used on the indoor track once) manual, ez start motor with ez starter, stock tools, screws, 2 o.s. .18 carbs, brand new stock air filter with extra foam, rear bumper, extra steering linkage, charger for the battery pack,......maybe a little more but thats all I can think of off the top of my head. will it be worth it to sell all that together for 475-500 or should I part it out???? opinions..... - cemeb4dk - 08-09-2006 you need to ask yourself, if you are going to race or bash... Buggies are not really made for bashing, yes they can do it somewhat. But they are made and geared for the track. They are not made to go to the construction pit and jump around. Remember they have a low ground clearance, and grass really slows them down and overeat the engine quickly. So before you make any decisions make sure you want to make the switch to racing mostly. If not save up cash and buy a used buggy cheap and work your way up. This way you keep your revo for bashing and have a cheap buggy to see if you like scale or not. Why drop a ton of money on a scale and your not sure if you will like it... Just some things to think about. opinions..... - snakebite46 - 08-09-2006 +1 opinions..... - Ponch - 08-09-2006 traxxas thrasher Wrote:ok well this is what i have.......RTR truck with wing, wing mount, 3 sets of springs, pushrods, shock boots, aluminum shock caps, 2 extra shocks, shock rod ends, p1 and p3 rockers, extra p2 rockers, 5-6 arms, stock silicone oil, center diff, rear brakes, FOC, reverse gears with the sensor and the small servo, bald bowties, stocke tires, bowtie MT's with 98% tread left (only used on the indoor track once) manual, ez start motor with ez starter, stock tools, screws, 2 o.s. .18 carbs, brand new stock air filter with extra foam, rear bumper, extra steering linkage, charger for the battery pack,......maybe a little more but thats all I can think of off the top of my head. You'll never get $475-$500 for a revo, I've only seen either uber race modded with a bunch of custom stuff break $500, and all aluminum shelfers get a bit higher. For yours you'd mabye get $400. opinions..... - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 08-09-2006 how bout a new truggy? best of both worlds opinions..... - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 08-09-2006 What keeps breaking on the Revo? And is it because of bashing, or racing? My Revo broke cheap stuff at the track and only if rammed into, or driven into the wall (thanks, son!). Other than that, I am happy with durability (albeit with limited track time so far) of the Revo. opinions..... - Tex - 08-09-2006 yeah I went scale last year and then decided I liked MT better. I would do like Mike said and get an arena. opinions..... - Michowski - 08-09-2006 Dont forget its all about your driving also. Some people have a really agressive style and just really punish the trucks while others seem to just float on the track. I know my style is very very agressive and my stuff was often pushed to and beyond its limits. I lost a lot of 1st place a-mains because I simply just pushed my truck just a little to hard trying to get faster times. Tex seems to have a more calm style when he's in the groove. He just glides around the track and makes it look he is barely doing anything. opinions..... - kevinF - 08-09-2006 cemeb4dk Wrote:you need to ask yourself, well im not a basher.....im a racer, and i REALLY want to get into racing, and i figured why not scale. opinions..... - kevinF - 08-09-2006 DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 Wrote:What keeps breaking on the Revo? I REALLY REALLY want to get into racing. now would anyone be willing to let me drive their buggy for a tank or two around the track and ill take it slow and pay for any breakage???? i want to know if i will like scale opinions..... - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 08-09-2006 u can drive mine sunday |
