knowing laptimes in practice? - get dustd - 08-29-2006 is there anyway to know your laptimes while your practicing? If you buy your own transponder does the track thing read it? can you get your own thing to read transponders for a decent price? Im not sure if these are stupid questions or not but im just wondering. thanks, Joe knowing laptimes in practice? - Ponch - 08-29-2006 I don't think so. knowing laptimes in practice? - maxximum_44 - 08-29-2006 If you have a radio with a lap timer/counting feature, you can use that. Everytime you cross the finish line, you press the button on the transmiter. I can't say how well it works, I never used it. knowing laptimes in practice? - Racin' Ranger1 - 08-29-2006 i know the xs3 has it but idk how to use it..lol knowing laptimes in practice? - maxximum_44 - 08-29-2006 You have to change the grip function button from 3rd channel to lap timer. knowing laptimes in practice? - thenewguy821 - 08-29-2006 Another option, if you have Spektrum, is to get the telemetry module. There is a pick-up that you place near the track, and when your car/truck passes by it, it will send the lap times to the transmitter. The track DOES support Personal transponders, but they are a little pricey (about $90). As far as I remember, they do not run the timing equipment during practice times though. knowing laptimes in practice? - Mr. Tune - 08-30-2006 They don't have the computer stuff running during practice. You need to use a lap timer function on your radio if you have it, or a friend and a stopwatch. knowing laptimes in practice? - get dustd - 08-30-2006 i have a 3pm i think. I thought maybe there was something that could read transponders and hook up to a labtop to display the information. -shake knowing laptimes in practice? - Slowstang93 - 08-30-2006 just count out loud - and bake knowing laptimes in practice? - Tex - 08-30-2006 lol....I added the "shake" to get dusted's post... knowing laptimes in practice? - chicagokenji - 08-30-2006 most of the carpet tracks indoors will leave their computer and AMB system on during practice. Some of them using RCScoring pro then pipe the audio to the track and you can hear your laptimes. Some of them just leave the video on the screen and you can see your laptimes. knowing laptimes in practice? - get dustd - 08-30-2006 yea maybe thats what im thinking of. I used to race 1/10 onroad and everyone used to know there laptimes. Ill buy LH a small TV if theyll display laptimes during practice lol Thanks for correcting my post -shake knowing laptimes in practice? - Casketman - 08-30-2006 Heck,if people are serious about it. Simple way I think would be to get a cheap, old computer with no other programs on there but for the lap system. They can find their times on there and print them out. But I would only bother with that if a decent amount of people were going to use it. I know I would like to keep track of my practice times. And race times too. I did see the printouts when I was there a few sundays ago,but I dont understand the times and how that is all laid out so if I were able to get just my times and maybe the fastest times for that lap. I would go for that. knowing laptimes in practice? - get dustd - 08-30-2006 id also be willing to put together a decent computer. knowing laptimes in practice? - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 08-30-2006 u would want ot se the most consistent groups of times together knowing laptimes in practice? - get dustd - 08-31-2006 id also be happy with something that lied to me about my lap times. knowing laptimes in practice? - Tex - 08-31-2006 lol knowing laptimes in practice? - chicagokenji - 09-01-2006 a friend or other racer with a stopwatch and a piece of paper and pencil would be the simplest. He times you, you time him. knowing laptimes in practice? - Tex - 09-01-2006 did leisure have to buy two timing systems for each of the outdoor tracks? or just extend the wire across both tracks? knowing laptimes in practice? - chicagokenji - 09-01-2006 If you are willing to use a partner: ipods have a built in laptimer a cheap laptop and freeware laptiming software would be great too. We use a 8 year old 50 dollar laptop with freeware rc timing software on our practice track....you press a key each time the car passes a line knowing laptimes in practice? - chicagokenji - 09-01-2006 Tex Wrote:did leisure have to buy two timing systems for each of the outdoor tracks? or just extend the wire across both tracks? I don't know what they purchased but I think John was using two separate laptops one for on road and one for off road when he ran the races last weekend. knowing laptimes in practice? - bubbacola - 09-01-2006 Yes two sepatate scoring systems |
