Stadium Truck Requirments - SEEKandDESTROY2 - 09-10-2006

Hey i'm going to race my Jato 3.3 this winter a LHR at the indoor dirt track but i need to know what is the engine size requirement? I'd love to run my Modded 3.3 there, and is there any other requirements? Thanks.

The question will be what class do you hope to run in, because 1:10 GT doesn't allow the 2sp transmission.

Stadium Truck Requirments - SEEKandDESTROY2 - 09-10-2006

Well i've never raced there before so i have no clue. All i know is i want to race on the dirt track inside.

It's clay indoors.

I think they will alow any motor but ROAR rules are .12 with a single speed tanny. But they might allow .15 i am not sure

As long as the .20 isn't giving you a definate, noticealbe advantage over the other trucks, it'll be fine. Also, you should take the 2 speed out, keep it single.

Stadium Truck Requirments - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 09-10-2006

Yeah, 65mph on the backstraight won't be an advantage...unless you have an anchor for brakes.

Maybe you can just screw down the shift point so it stays in first?

That would suck...He'd go nowhere and probably blow the motor.

I would get the single speed...it's in the middle of a 1st and 2nd gear basically as far as teeth.

The 3.3 would have to go. When I had a 2.5 Jato all I heard was that you couldn't race it. Its too fast even without the 2spd transmission.

Not only that, but the 3.3 woud make it hell to control on the track. Any time you burped the throttle you'd either lift the front tires or lose the rear end. I ran my Jato on the indoor track and the acceloration was phenominal. The only place I could get on it was the back straight.

And on the out door track? Forget it. You'd never be able to keep it straight at anything more than half throttle.

Well I ran a Losi ad2. All last winter...or since they opened and have only seen a few jatos on the track. If your running the club races, bring it on any way you can get it there. No one would care if you put a .21 and a 6 speed in that thing. Just bring it....

That'd be sweet...Schumacher hits 70...x3=210 MPH!!!

Thats what i think i'm gona do. I hope they don't mind the second speed. I have very good throttle control with that truck, so watch out lol.

They won't mind for club racing, bigger races you may want to get it legal but everyday racing is ok with your 3.3 and 2speed

Stadium Truck Requirments - SEEKandDESTROY2 - 09-11-2006

Sweet, i picked up my tires for racing there today. Got a set of M3 Bowties and M3 Edges, with some Proline agitator rims. Gona look sweet.

Those street treads might do well indoors, as well.

Really? On the dirt track?

Stadium Truck Requirments - Thirdgen89GTA - 09-11-2006

Indoor track is clay and even bald tires can get traction inside. Outdoor track? Ouch with bald tires.

Stadium Truck Requirments - Tex - 09-12-2006

indoor has as much traction as the street (dang near if not the same)

Stadium Truck Requirments - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 09-12-2006

So much so that slicks are banned for indoor racing! (correct me if I said that wrong). Some days it will be slick if the water doesn't soak in. Then you will need to experiment with treads.

Stadium Truck Requirments - SEEKandDESTROY2 - 09-12-2006

Well i got a set of bowties and edges so i think i'll be good with traction. Can't wait to race. Anyone know what days i can go and practice there?
-Pete

Stadium Truck Requirments - Tex - 09-12-2006

Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, then racing on Sunday for Nitros

Stadium Truck Requirments - mikeL - 09-12-2006

slicks are not banned. It's to hard to say what is slick. During a race day slicks are only good for practice and maybe 1st round of qualifying. After that you'll need a pin on the tire.
