WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - north_shore_racer - 09-20-2006 Well, i popped open the motor on my revo to clean it up, and the piston is missing a huge chunk like someone bit out of it. so im in between either buying a new piston and sleeve for a 2.5r or just buying a new motor, either another 2.5r or maybe something else, possibly a 3.3? im looking to keep it as cheap as possible so if anybody can help me out thatd be greaty appreciated. Thanks John EDIT: The sleeve looks ok, so i dont think im gonna need to replace that but the piston will DEFINATELY need to be replaced, just the Piston, i dont even need the rod, that looks ok too. WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - rawkfist2 - 09-20-2006 I need my 3.3 but dam u should get one. there nice. WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - north_shore_racer - 09-20-2006 yea im really thinkin bout it, i really want a motor by this weekend, so i figured getting a piston and sleeve would be easiest, but in the long run i might get one, either that or the os .18 off of tower. because its really cheap right now. WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - biggy - 09-21-2006 I got a 4 tank old OS 18TM bumpstart engine. $130 shipped Modded 2.5R bumpstart around a gallon or so, compression still feels good $45 shipped WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - Tex - 09-21-2006 You bought that revo/motor from Bruce right NSR? You haven't ran it yet? WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - north_shore_racer - 09-21-2006 no school has bogged me down and crap, got into 1/18th totally forgot i had it, decided to get it running FINALLY and found out i was missing a chunk out of the piston. i would take you up on the 2.5r bumpstart but thats what i was converting out of, i was gonig from bumpstart to pull start for bashing purposes. WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - SLOW REVO - 09-21-2006 I have 3.3 motors brand new. lmk. WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - briyouu - 09-21-2006 got a brand new xtm18 and os 18tz ebmod's motors lmk WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - north_shore_racer - 09-21-2006 im trying to keep the price as low as possible, so let me know. i really just want the piston and sleeve but i might consider getting a new modded motor if i can get a cheap enough price on it. Im willing to trade everything i have in my onroad thread for a good motor that is preferrably pullstart or ezstart ready, i dont have the money for a bump box, but id trade the onroad stuff i have for a good motor. Thanks John WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - Mr. Tune - 09-21-2006 I got a 2.5R that threw a bearing and trashed the rod and case. Very good chance the piston and sleeve are still in great shape. It had 1/2 gallon on it when it broke. I'll double check the condition on it and get you a price. WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - Michowski - 09-21-2006 I got a 3.3 in great shape ready for bumpstart. Its got about 2 gallons on it. I replaced the bearings in it about a half gallon to a gallon on the motor. Got really good compression. 70 shipped. WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - Thirdgen89GTA - 09-21-2006 You can buy a new piston and sleeve for $50 from tower for the 2.5R and change it yourself. Very easy. One of the more recent issues of RC Car Action has an article on how to do this. Just make sure you use LOTS of WD40 before and after to make sure dirt and debris are not in the engine. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHFU5&P=ML You can also order it from your LHS and possibly get the same price once shipping runs out. Your LHS should also be able to change it for you if you don't feel up to it. WTB: Revo Motor or Piston and Sleeve - biggy - 09-21-2006 No problem. |
