i am getting a losi 8ight kit for christmas and i was wondering is it really hard to build. Or just any kit are they very hard to build and how long should they take to do right.

Like anything, doing it carefully and correctly may take longer than slapping it together. Take your time, read and get familiar with the steps in the instructions, ask questions when you are unsure, and it will turn out fine.

Don't cut corners and it will be perfect. Rush it and you'll be sorry.

kits arent that hard as long as you take your time and make sure you read and follow the directions, I told you I would help you out with it

building kits is half the fun, just dont build it, try to learn and understand how the stuff goes together and where it goes, screw sizes etc. It will really help you out when u need to tear something apart, i take my stuff apart all the time and after about the 3rd time i didnt need the manual anymore

I've read/heard anywhere from 8 to 12 hours to build.

I think my 8ight took me about 14-15 hours. Only because I did stop and take apart/rebuild a couple steps because it didn't feel smooth.

One more kit question - Tex - 11-28-2006

My first kit took me 9 hours and it was just an electric 2-wheel drive buggy...The 9 hours was to get it RTR, motor, elecs, tires, body (simply one-color 5 min job)

my first took me a while but i was really like mike said understanding what every peice was for and its purpous rather than just reading and turning the wrenches, i put it together even though i knew i was going to be taking it apart and rebuilding with a different chassis just becuase i wanted to know all the pieces. It really helped a lot. Make sure you download the xray setup guide also will help a ton also.
