Today's practice.... - FreeRideFrosty - 01-11-2007 Ton's of people, little short on marshals overall but not tooooo bad (until the end), and the truck was DIALED. I need to replace some worn hub carriers and such but other than that (and the little bit slidy tires) this thing was hooked up. Motor ran all day at 230 wit tons of power. I didn't break a damn thing, stayed on the wheels, and was running with a lot of the faster truggies and buggies. Turns out I just needed track time. Too bad I have to go back to school for just long enough to lose everything I just gained back.... Today's practice.... - FreeRideFrosty - 01-12-2007 And Rocco.... the main reason for me breaking things has to be these very wide offset rims. There was a guy there who flipped the hell out of his LSP on standard offset rims with no problems. If I am smooth (and with the help of the kyosho carriers) I have no problems. I think once I go to a standard offset wheel I will be able to go back to the actual hotbodies carriers. Today's practice.... - Racin' Ranger1 - 01-12-2007 yeah today was fun i do wanna race again when i get a better servo. ill still lose, but what the hell Today's practice.... - FreeRideFrosty - 01-12-2007 Racin' Ranger1 Wrote:yeah today was fun i do wanna race again when i get a better servo. ill still lose, but what the hell Sure thing. Everything was going good for me today. The truck was running well, I was calm, and driving pretty damn good. Definitely a good practice. Today's practice.... - Traxxas_Junkee - 01-12-2007 I wish I could say the same. lol. 1 Spur, 1 CB, 2 Stripped Engine screws (not that big of a deal, but still GGRR!!) Oh well, hopefully next time will be a little bit better. Today's practice.... - Obsessive R/C - 01-12-2007 Stripped spur & CB on a buggy?? Today's practice.... - maxximum_44 - 01-12-2007 Hows the new layout? Today's practice.... - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-12-2007 thats next week... Today's practice.... - maxximum_44 - 01-12-2007 oh.... I plan on it. It was what I could afford at the time and I was given a very good deal on them. When I do the rebuild I will be going to standard offset and keep these for drag racing in parking lots.:p: And yes.... the reason he stripped a CB and Spur is because of the stripped motor mount screws. He was complaining about the motor moving and ran it anyway. LoL:o: Today's practice.... - kevinF - 01-12-2007 I had a bad airleak with my motor, i was running 376, temped by 2 different guns, mine and a exergen or raytek, w/e. does anyone know what to use to seal the back plate and around the carb? Today's practice.... - FreeRideFrosty - 01-12-2007 I believe you can use any sort of silicone gasket maker. Take the bak plate off, squeeze a bead around the outside, and screw it back on. It will squeeze out of the sides. You can wipe a little of it up but then just let it dry. That is the best way to seal it up tight. Today's practice.... - DAVEC-NITRO-RS4 - 01-12-2007 sealant that says "oxygen sensor safe", like Permatex red. Today's practice.... - Traxxas_Junkee - 01-12-2007 Obsessive R/C Wrote:Stripped spur & CB on a buggy?? Yup. But Tex it was because a bearing went out on my CB, there was not even a trace of the bearing, not the gaurds on the side or anything. And then I put the motor back in and stipped the screws out on the head. Just a bad night. Today's practice.... - Ponch - 01-12-2007 Kev if you're going Sunday I have some engine sealant stuff that's made for these engines you can use. Today's practice.... - kevinF - 01-14-2007 rocco79 Wrote:Hows your motor after being that hot? fine.....has great compression still, I have 4 gallons through it, with one tank of running it at almost 400* lol, and it can only be turned over while in yuor hand, not to hard but pretty tight. so i say its fine, the piston isnt chared, it had a nice kinda dark yellow look to it. Today's practice.... - rocco79 - 01-14-2007 cool bro... Today's practice.... - kevinF - 01-14-2007 i sure as hell hope that this permatex shit will fix my problems and that i solve the air leak. |
