Bead Lock Wheels??? - Jeep_Guy - 02-25-2007 I see that 99% of wheels for sale are the standard glue type. What is the story about these "bead lock" style wheels? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNWP7&P=0 Will something like this really work? I am so new to this hobby that an easier solution to wheels/tires seems enticing, but if it is a non-working gimic, I would love to find out and stay away from such a product. The forum's input will be greatly appreciated. Bead Lock Wheels??? - Ponch - 02-25-2007 Yeah they work, I've used them before. Not good for racing though, too heavy. Bead Lock Wheels??? - Mnster - 02-25-2007 Maximizer ones work great, Proline ones not so good. I still prefer glued wheels, by the time the tires are junk the wheels usually are too. Bead Lock Wheels??? - Casketman - 02-25-2007 Yeah,I had two sets and they are heavy. Not sure how a truggy would do with them. More power to deal with the extra weight. But for my revo, just to much. They can be a pain to get started too. Seeing you screw them in,the first 2 screws or so can give you some trouble, after that, its cake. |
