Ford Recall - BJoe - 04-26-2007 Anybody not seen this video that demonstraits the reason Ford recalled these trucks? http://youtube.com/watch?v=v36MCcRPRTc Most people I've talked to wanted to know how to get their vehicles to do this................... Ford Recall - Ponch - 04-26-2007 Pretty cool, I think we may have discussed this here before but? lol anyway...Sounds like a valve is smacking on either the piston or something.... Ford Recall - AddictedtoNITRO - 04-26-2007 can you say unspent fuel lol Ford Recall - Racin' Ranger1 - 04-26-2007 dang i want mine to do that going down the road past a soccer mom Ford Recall - MX_KEVIN - 04-26-2007 Ponch Wrote:Pretty cool, I think we may have discussed this here before but? lol anyway...Sounds like a valve is smacking on either the piston or something....Nope. Thats the new 08 Diesel.mash: Ford Recall - firesprink281 - 04-26-2007 nothing a can of sea foam won't fix! Ford Recall - Meatwad - 04-27-2007 lmao Ford Recall - Hoobajoob - 04-27-2007 Ponch Wrote:Pretty cool, I think we may have discussed this here before but? lol anyway...Sounds like a valve is smacking on either the piston or something....thats what a diesel sounds like ponch. I heard this is caused by high exhaust temps causing soot in the particulate filter to catch on fire. I guess this happens if your engine is over fueling or are consuming oil. The fuel or oil gets caught in the particulate filter and when the temps get high the fuel or oil ignite and you get a nice flame. Diesel engines do not tick or knock that loud normally. It sounds like the valve train isn't getting lubricated or a really bad piston slap. Judging by the unspent fuel I'd say its a valve train issue. Does anybody have a copy of the recall notice? Ford Recall - Hoobajoob - 04-27-2007 Gforce Wrote:Obviously this is not a normal condition. Does anybody have a copy of the recall notice?its also a video not the best sound quality.(i turned my speakers on:o: ) and diesels do have a tick and knock just that excessive) Ford Recall - MX_KEVIN - 04-27-2007 Thats the normal sound for a diesel and Im sure a camcorder makes it sound worse. A Cummings that was put in Ram trucks late 90's will make that new Ford sound like its purring like a pussy cat. http://flatratetech.com/news/fordhaltssales.htm Ford Recall - Hoobajoob - 04-27-2007 The new cummins are MUCH MUCH better but man did those older ones KNOCK! We had one at a place i used to work. I was our service truck for going on road calls. I had to shut it off to talk on the phone while i was in the truck just so i could hear. Ford Recall - MX_KEVIN - 04-27-2007 We have a 96 with 30k we use at work. Forgot to mention the drive thru.... |
