Magnesium vs. aluminum for cooling heads - pwnzor - 11-07-2007 close plz Magnesium vs. aluminum for cooling heads - dentguy92 - 11-07-2007 mag. will pull heat better than alum. the head will be hotter over the whole head but will not be as hot at the glow plug... Magnesium vs. aluminum for cooling heads - allan42r - 11-07-2007 they will both look good and last a long time on the bench.lol its a fad, dont know who started it but im sure it was an effort to reduce weight. the os speed comes in both now. and no mag has less memory than alum. at the nats no one was running the mag heads, cant get the rpms out of the motor on warm days with a poor cooling head. os had the same problem when they came out with the cv 12 that had a red square head but as soon as you put a better cooling head on it like the odonnell it was fast. i had the mr tuned motors at the nats and we put the alum head on. in cooler temps this head will work in fact ira runs onroad and perfers the mag head. so i guess the higher speeds keep the motor cool. Magnesium vs. aluminum for cooling heads - allan42r - 11-07-2007 rb,adam drake,os,ninja none of these motors ran the mag heads because they do not cool the motor as well as the alum. i ran both on the same day on the same motor. No need to add fuel to the fire. some times it allows people to realize they need to calm down i think rocco did the right thing here Magnesium vs. aluminum for cooling heads - Czech-it-Out Graphics - 11-07-2007 rocco is totally right, what ever happened to the good old days roc? Guys talking shit to each other non stop online, at the track, whenever, and at the end of the day everybody was still tight and it was fun to do. now you say one thing about a car, a tire, a glow plug, and people get offended and almost have a stroke. Used to be all fun and games, a relaxing hobby, now every where you go you gotta screen every word you say to make sure nobody gets butt hurt....what happened roc? |
